Default 1985 Mustang GT 5 speed convertible

1985 Mustang 5 speed GT convertible. It is factory white with black trim. I've had the car since I was 16, I'm almost 27 now. I've been doing little things to it here and there with spare cash. I am now ready to move on from my 85 GT. It sits in the garage anymore. I liked the convertible when I was younger, but the concept of it diminishes when you have to rely on it for a daily driver after the daily getting knocked out of commission. Earlier this year, I bought a 98 GT after losing my Thunderbird to an accident. I'm shifting my focus to the 98 GT, as it is a coupe and more suited to daily driving. I'm not able to give the 85 GT what it needs to be the way I would want it to be. A lot has been done to it, I have always kept it maintained. Doesn't leak a drip of anything on the floor of my garage. Since I have had it, I have put 25,000 miles on it, maybe. The engine pulls a solid 18-19 inHg of vacuum, starts up every time, drives reliably. I don't like seeing it sit all the time, I'm ready to let someone else enjoy it and mod/restore it to their taste. I have clean title in hand. The car has had multiple owners, which doesn't mean much to me, but may mean something to you, for what it's worth. I've been told the car is worth every bit of $3500, but I'll take $3000 for it or best reasonable offer. This car is not junk.

    Pros:
    -Drivetrain mods:
-8.8" rear end swap with 3.55:1 gears.
-Ford Racing 10.5" clutch with maybe 25,000 miles in it
-BBK clutch quadrant with adjustable clutch cable (has maybe 5,000 miles on it)

    Engine Mods:
    -MAC equal length headers
-True dual 1986+ design exhaust with high flow cats and H-pipe
-Original 4180C carburetor that has been tuned with a wideband O2 sensor
-Recurved timing set for 89 octane fuel
    -EGR and thermactor pump delete
-1986+ water pump swap (recently done)
    -SVE 3 core aluminum radiator
-1986+ plastic fan swap (more efficient at moving air)
-Weiand Street Warrior intake manifold with phenolic spacer
    -New Carter fuel pump
    -New belts and hoses
    -New timing set, timing cover.

Suspension mods: (front suspension was recently done)
    -Steeda front sway bar
-Energy Suspension sway bar mounting bushings with zerk fittings
-Energy Suspension sway bar end links
-87+ front spindle swap with new rotors, calipers, Hawk HPS pads
    -KYB AGX struts
-New brake master cylinder, booster, rear wheel cylinders, shoes, hardware, middle brake hose, caliper hoses, e-brake cables.
-Moog Problem Solver lower ball joints
-New inner and outer tie rods
    -New power steering return lines
This car will take spirited cornering and stop on a dime.

    Interior/Sound:
-New Pioneer 3.5" speakers in dash
-New Infinity Reference 5.25" speakers in rear quarter panels
    -Newer Kenwood HD radio
-Older Rockford Fosgate 180W amplifier and RF P1 10" subwoofer in sealed box in the trunk
    -8 year old carpet
    -Upholstery in decent shape
    -New dash pad
-replaced broken speedometer (odometer isn't accurate)
    -all gauges work
-replaced broken HVAC panel, lubricated heater blend door cable
-Been converted to 134a with new lines, accumulator, condenser, evaporator. Still ice cold.

    Convertible top:
    -Newer hydraulics (pump, lines, rams)
-Newer weather stripping, nothing is torn or worn out
    -Glass rear window
    -No holes or tears

    The bad....ish:
-Convertible top has started to come unglued from the frame, I imagine an upholstery shop could easily remedy this.
-Typical Fox convertible leak areas when going down the highway during a downpour.
-Paint is pretty worn. Looks good from afar, but far from good up close lol
-Some rust spots forming under paint in the rear, some rust under the deck lid, no rust holes, barely visible from outside
-paint is cracked in areas from the Arizona sun.
-Missing hood decal and insulation, re Arizona sun
    -Rock chips galore, re Arizona
-Side trim is starting to peel away from the doors and front-rear quarter panels
-Engine and transmission have around 250,000 miles of use.
-Transmission grinds 2nd when speed shifting above 2500 RPM, avoided by double clutching
-Rear moans a little around 30-45 mph, but quiets down the faster you go. Not really loud, but noticeable without the radio on. Not a huge problem per se, but a little annoying to me.
-Engine burns/uses 1 quart of oil every week of daily driving, not from blowby, surprisingly. Has minor rear main seal leak, but doesn't leave it on the garage floor.
-The trunk is the ugliest part of the car

    Will add pics later

Still for sale, still tucked away in the garage. I'd rather the car go to a fellow FEP enthusiast.

Very nice looking car, I would love to see this in my garage.....but I am sorta relieved that it is on the other side of the country making me not as tempted to buy it.

Craigslist ad has probably expired, no big loss to me since I keep getting scammers from it. I'm not in a rush to sell it, but I'll let it go to the right buyer. I may think about getting the top re-glued in the near future.
