Default Trans cross member question AOD into Zephyr

I tried searching for this but I couldn't find anything. Thinking about a 302 and AOD swap in the Zephyr, but I don't know if the crossmember mounting ears will line up. It's a 1980 so I know the mounting ears are narrower. Will the AOD fit or what has to be done to make it work?

    Thanks for the help!

LMR has a Stifler's cross member made to do just that!

Thanks Brad, that seems a lot better than having to relocate the crossmember mounting ears! I had no idea these existed.

Here's a link to the crossmember

Not sure if it would work with an AOD, but when I swapped out the C4 for a T5 in my 78 Fairmont 2 door sedan, and later a 80 Futura, I used a stock double hump crossmember from a 87-93 5.0 Fox Mustang, and just cut down the tubes that go between the floor pan mounts of the earlier cars, and reinstalled the bushings and steel sleeves. That worked great on both cars, and took virtually no time and little effort to perform. The slotted holes for the trans mount were more than long enough to fit both the T5 and a C4.

That does work with a T-5, especially if you use the '96 manual trans offset tranny mount. Fits perfect, right in the middle of the slots, no pressure on the engine mounts at all. An AOD's tranny mount i think sits father back than on the T-5, and the crossmember interferes with the pan. That's why the Stifler's crossmember is so great!
