Default Pacesetter long tubes on an 83 3.8L

Haven't seen a post that clarified this, but did see one person with pacesetter shorties. Will 94-whatever pacesetter headers bolt onto an 83 and fit in the compartment without any major modifications? The guy who posted pics with the shorties didn't say anything about modification, and doesn't seem to be actively using the site, so maybe one of you guys knows before I end up buying a set and having them not work?

    thanks

I've been absent from the site for a while. To answer your question...I'd say the '94s would not work without some modifications. It might be worth it to look at Pacesetter's website, (http://pacesetterexhaust.com/headers-for-cars.aspx#ford), to see for yourself. This is what I found:

Good afternoon, the stock shorty headers from the 94-98 3.8 where a direct bolt on replacement to the cast iron ones on my 1983. I did have to weld up the O2 sensor holes, but you could just leave them in and they would have fit between the frame rails. No modification to original Y pipe or catback system required. The is a picture early on my project log, which I should probably update at some point as I've done a few updates since.

But seeing as stock was a good fit, it is within reason that aftermarket would also work.
