    Default Hello from Europa

    Hello alltogether,

my name is Heinz from Germany and i own a 1984 "Anni" and some other german Fords. If allowed, i post some pictures.
First: Sorry for bad spelling. If not yet, maybe later.

I hope you can help, because original spare parts in germany are hard to find.

I'm driving Ford since 1983 and i like cars from the 80's.

Ok, i start with the Capri. The V8 is now over 20 years installed. tried several gear boxes like the SROD, Cosworth T-5, FRPP M-7003-Z T-5 and now a stock AOD.
Now i am building a mechanical 4R70W (or an AOD with 4R70W planetary, etc.). My first axle conversion was 7.5" with 2.47 gear ratio and open diff. Then a 7.5" with a 3.08 and auburn pro differential, Moser 28 spline axle shafts.
Last week i finished a 7.5" with 3.08, Detroit true trac and Moser axle shafts.

Autobahn, how did you like the 2.47:1 axle on the autobahns ? And did you have those gear when the SROD was installed ?

My 1983 Mustang is 5.0L, SROD and 2.47:1 axle. Great on open stretches of highway, not so good in stop and go traffic.
Almost never use fourth gear, stock motor just not enough power.
Third gear, however, cruises on highway at 2200rpm and will get up to 125mph.

For few months, i used the 2.47 with a cosworth T-5 gearbox (5th 0.82 ratio).

Welcome to the site! That exact same thing happened to my 1984 RS 5.0 Capri at about 185,000 miles on the Odometer! Crank broke at the first main and destroyed the block and the pistons and rods in the 1 and 5 cylinders. Of coarse that was back in 1994 before my rebuild and switch to a roller block in 2007. The car sat without a motor for over 12 years.

Bet that tiny Capri screams with that 347 in it LOL

Default welcome - FEP Swiss Chapter

    Hello Heinz

Welcome (ok, three years too late) to the site. Good to know having a skilled Foxbody-Schrauber around the corner! (more or less ) . You own a very nice GT350 I have to admit! I live near Zurich so maybe we meet with our Stangs sometime?

If you are interested in getting in contact with some south Germany and Switzerland foureyedpride members see here:

    http://vb.foureyedpride.com/showthre...his-was-active

    Tip:
People here on FEP always like to see as much pictures as possible.

For 20 USD you can become a FEP supporter which allows you to post much more pics/attachements to the website (without its somehow limited…). That “contribute” button on top of the website does not work, so see here:

    http://vb.foureyedpride.com/showthre...-to-contribute

    cheers,

    Pete
