SWEET! The smell of fresh paint is rewarding.....and a bit intoxicating.

I was woke up yesterday by a screaming wife at 6.30am, and the day just got worse from there. Anyway, my buddy let me use his works little paint booth on Saturday to do fenders. I hope to have hood, scoop and nose ready for this Saturday cause he has to work again. Picking up speed!

Got the scoop repaired and in primer and the underside of the hood primed and painted. Sorry trey i cut out a hood pad. Took a piece of chalk from the kids to mark it out and trimmed it with scissors. Took about 15 min. Curious how well it will last... I guess we will seeName: 14980060926761230505382.jpg

Size: 135.3 KB i still have to cut out for the scoop hole. I used a different hood since I wanted to keep and hang the original on the shop wall. Also put the bumper on, though I was so disappointed I always had thought it was an aluminum one, i never really checked it. It was painted silver like the cobra it was on. It sure looked like it was aluminum.

Child labor laws do not allow that type of help!

Besides they look more like Supervisors to me!

Cute kids . . . I assume they get that from MOM!

Sorry I am down in TX staying with my parents trying to help them out with some things and I am dripping with sarcasm tonight! I wonder why!

Wow. Neat ol can your wife picked up.

i binged and took this whole thread in today. I had been more or less ignoring it unknowingly for a while in there - web browser wasn't telling me there was new contents. Awesome build. My 86 GT also has rust challenges - just in different places.

Ive been working on prepping mechanicals so that's right, then plan to blow it apart for body and paint. Well - actually mostly have that done as I've had SO little time and my wife hates it when I work on cars. Not that I'm going to stop.

Ames isn't all that far from Omaha. Would be cool to get together sometime in Des Moines or something. Brock - what do ya think?

I'm surprised you got the kiddos to stay still long enough for a photo.

Is it me....or does the little one look like she is either up to something.....or has already committed a crime? That look is straight up mischief.

    Evil words ...... of suggestion....

Not sure a nasty stroker will fit under the hood of the Volvo. Might have to cut the hood - you know - just a little .... to make room. might almost feel bad about putting a cage in it. Safety first though. With it getting back halfed and all. At least the windows leave plenty of rooom for the tubs.

Size: 103.0 KBto whom It may concern, this color, from my point of view is an exact match to the 79 black. I know some sources say landau black, but it seems to shiny for me. It has a fresh armour all look to it. My black seems not flat but muted? It was actually hard to tell I even painted a few parts. Looks better than new. Also I did my headliner. I ordered the vinyl before I found out my cardboard was worse than no good. So, I went to the local plastic place and picked up a 4 x 4 piece of 1/16th inch abs plastic. Had the family stand on top of the cardboard and traced out onto the plastic. Cut it out. Then made a shape out of a scrap of osb plywood, and put the folds into it with light torch work and a dolly. Alas when I glued it all up I ended up with a slight wrinkle at both front corners. They will be mostly covered with trim and visors so, whatever. But it looks pretty good. Oh $20 for the plastic and an hour or two to get it done. I wish I had taken pictures as I went.

Got headliner in, a pillars painted and added insulation scraps from hood mat hvac material. Installed a pillars and front headliner trim piece and visors. It's coming together. I'll get a pic once I get the dash in, and new carpet.i also have a while bunch of fresh painted interior pieces ready to go back in.

Shane, that Volvo is sweet! Just the other day, I saw one just like it sitting in the parking lot of a body shop on 100th street in the Clive/urbandale area. I didn't know what it was, but loved the look of it. I turned around and pulled in to find out it was a volvo. Very cool car, man!
