No work but now I have to redo my dash. I'll have some blue digital gauges for sell soon.

It was late last night. I saw this. I saw the or best offer button. I offered less than I thought anyone would ever take for one of these new. And now I saved $100 and own it!

I think I'll get a custom plate made and mount this in the middle with some 2 inch gauges on each side.

I made a little progress today. I want to use PWM on the HP ECU to control my Contour fans. For that you need a PWM controller. Ford and GM pretty much have used the same ones. I got one off a Fusion at the Pull A Part, but Vette's use the same one. I got the box and the harness for like $12 I think. I was going to get the Fusion fan because the PWM controller mounts to it all nice and neat but the Fusion fan was wider than my radiator core. So I will stick with the Contour dual fans.

I've racked my brain trying to find a good spot to mount the box. Next to the MSD, under the coil, by the battery, even inside the fender. But that is out....I don't want to have to remove the wheel and fender liner to troubleshoot stuff.

Finally today I was looking and seeing if a C6 Vette fan could fit. Again, the PWM box mounts right to it all nice and neat. But when I was out in the garage checking it out, I saw a bit of real estate at the bottom of the fan. I yanked the fan out and sure enough, there was a great spot to put it. So I drilled one hole, put nut plates on and bolted it up. I'll use some blue Loctite to try and keep the screws from vibrating out. I just now need to route and solder up the power leads from the fans to the PWM power output.

And YES, to those familiar with the Contour (this one is actually of a Cougar) I mounted it upside down. There is a hook molded into the shroud that hooks over the bottom of the radiator and I made a mount with those 3 bolts that go in a piece of stainless that's folded up and over the top of the radiator.

Needless to say Drew, but I'm a big fan of your choice.

So when are you going to have it running?

Do you need to give you a year or is general vagueness enough?

I probably could 'get' it running in a day or two. But like your sheet metal rehab, my wiring rehab is taking some time and thought, all the while being distracted by worthless time thieves like house maintenance or buying and modding a new truck!!! And I have turned into a big heat wuss. I need a shop with A/C. Or at least 2 big 4' fans blowing on my fat ask.

Lol! I know what you mean Drew. I'm convincing myself at this moment that I should be out in the garage.

I have an excuse that will be good for the next next twenty minutes or so, I'm trying to get enough water in me before I go into the oven......ehrrr....garage.

Awesome work! It is fueling my imagination for my daily driver. I now think about opening up the hood of my car and NOT seeing a birds nest of dirty and decaying wires.

As for being a heat wuss, I hear ya. I was fortunate in the way the A/C ducts were routed in my house. I cut a 4" round hole in the supply duct and put a vent diffuser on it and now as long as the garage door stays closed.... its a nice cool 74 all summer long. Maybe you can do the same.

If only it were that easy! The attic above is empty...no ducts even cross it!

I've decided to reduce the complexity a tad. I have the Holley Digital Dash up for sale and I am just going back to using 2 relays for the cooling fans. I've made harnesses for the fans and run them to where they will be soldered to the fuse center. I did a lot more work today to get back to where I can understand where all the wires are supposed to go...I think. I sat down with the EVTM and wiring diagram and looked at all of the labels I put on the wires.

I think I've got it figured out and matched the fusible links to the correct amp and they will go to a fuse. Tomorrow I may have enough of the power feeds soldered to try powering up the car. I told my wife, it's like Apollo 13...it's been turned off for so long, I hope it turns back on. Of course, it hasn't been in the freezing vacuum of out space, but the blistering 94 in my garage!

If everything I have worked up, on and inside out is correct, I'll put the battery to it and the interior accessories will power up and the car won't burn to the ground!

I've labeled all the wires on the fuse center with number tags and I've labeled about every wire under the hood with my P-Touch labeler. Then I will start working on my headlight harness to my relays, power to the MSD and fuel pump and then do the C950 swap to Holley HP.

Oh Yeah, here's my work last week on making the cooling fans harnesses. A big snafu because the fancy solder station couldn't bring the heat on 10 gauge wire. So I ended up getting a Weller 150W gun. It went much better with the proper tool. Then I wrapped it in split nylon braid wrap and sealed the ends of that with more heat shrink.

Thanks! I soldered up the main circuits and powered it up. It worked. The interior lights and radio came on. I still need to figure out where and how I am going to run the wire for the rear defrost. I don't have it hooked up yet. I meant to ground the fan motors and then trip the ground side of the relays and run them some. But that's for another day.

After my test, I disconnected the battery and started untangling the wires where I have run them from the harness coming out of the firewall by the brake booster and the ones that get power run down into a hole. It took about an hour but I got that bundle free from everything else and was able to route it better. Next up will be to make a headlight harness and connect that to the relays and then put all of the lights back in the front end and round the wiring harness to them.Name: IMG_20180903_145222.jpg

Does anyone know what the abbreviation T/O means in the EVTM? I see it list connections and splices for example near the headlight T/O or near T/O ground.

I think it might mean Turkey Orifice Drew, Seems strange to put that there though.......other than that, you're on your own.

Any examples of what they mean by take-off? I can figure out the connectors that are listed. Like C209. But it may also say something like in 42950. I can't figure out what those 5 digit numbers mean.

I'm sorry, I was so sure in the moment, but I think this is actually correct:

It means pretty much the same thing I was getting at, but like a "tape-out to ground" would be where a single wire splits off from the main harness and is grounded nearby.

That makes sense! I still need to figure out what the 5 digit numbers are. Well, I don't have to, I would like to.

You don't have to, don't need to and in fact....just throw that curiosity in the trash can.

Like everything else Ford does, I firmly believe they put that in there to distract and confuse you and it has absolutely no meaning to anyone/anything. If you look, there are tons of the connectors that have different colors, shapes and so forth but yet have the same 5 digit number.

I learned in my EFI/wiring conversion that following the EVTM and or electrical schematics was hard enough as it is and you don't need to add any further complexity to the job that you are doing so well at currently.

Keep up the good work brother!
