    Default Trans crossmember help....for T56

Motor and trans are in my 81 Fairmont but need to figure out how to get a transmission crossmember mounted.

'81 has the narrow chassis mounting ears for the transmission crossmember, so you're gonna need to move
them rearward. The T56 transmission mount pad is ~5" further rearward than with a T5 or C4. If you swap
out your mounting ears with the wider ones from an '82+ Fox Mustang, you can then use the Stifflers tubular
crossmember that's made for putting a T56 in a Fox, along with either a factory-style or poly trans mount.
    Cheers,

Talked to stifflers this morning and they have a mount and crossmember that will work. Mounts are somewhat like the 96-98 cobra that bolts to the framerails. Hopefully i will have the piece later this week.
