    The back is nearly the same... one of the parts on my 2001 seats has an E3 engineering number on it. They have a mount location for the seat belt guide on the top of the seat that would need to be cut off to fit the foam. I haven't compared the bottom frame, but it looks similar to the non-GT seats

    I installed a back frame from a 1990 Mark VII in my 2001 since the stock one broke in 2005. The metal was a little thicker (it was about 1 lb heavier) and had a horizontal brace that supports the lumbar bladder. It lasted a few years longer than the stock one.

    My son didn't mind the lean while he drove it the last couple of years, but now that I have the car back its time to replace it again.
