I too am a Pinto addict, LOL, however they are few and far between these days. I have not seen one on the road in years. Hopefully I get my wagon out of hibernation soon. I have seen your car on the local CL. Good luck with your sale.

How many Portland folks do we have here? Do we ever meet up? Not now, I'm sure, but before or maybe after?

There are a couple. 4Barrel Mike is one. Ran into him at the Hillsboro all Ford show last June. He used to be a Pinto guy too. I actually live in Beaverton now but I work in Canby.

Got a lesson in respect for Mercury at last years Ford Nationals listening to Al Turner talk about Mercury Racing’s success against Mopar hemi’s and Chevy in A/FX racing. He needs to write a book.

That's way too nice to end up in my hands... Oh the dirty, dirrrty things I would do to a car like that!

Looks like he just added a 3-4" section to get around steering shaft.

Here's a couple pics of the hood clearance I'm dealing with. Unfortunately my hood has the perfect peekaboo hole to see exactly how close it is.

Basin Motorsports? Is that an actual business, or your forum handle?

Amen. Big Al and Mercury Love to you all. And Jack P, the Mercury guys walked into Trans Am while Ford decided to keep the 68 Tunnel Port as a hobbled race horse, and Take the big phat juan forda team. Ble55 em all. In so doing, they Dodged the Wrath of the SCCA. You Caynt Always Win by Too Mu-uuuch!. Whatever, Fords Modular engine and Y and FE's are all cut from the same deep skirt block. Ferrari style. YRMV, but the 3/4 " spacers are the standard way to fix the Cammer into the trim hood-line of a Fox.

Steering rag joint changes to header clearance, you gotta hang the Cammer from the spring towers with a 4 inch section log and tie down strop, and trial fit the header and rag joint combo if you don't want spacers. I like hood clearance, so I like spacers. The issue is rising rate coil over position and where you like your struts set up. LMR spacers and a good cross member allow you to use better headers and eliminate other expenses.

Upper spring tower reinforcement is a good idea too, but again...its all about what you want.
