Default Dead 83 GT Bucktag and Pics

    Fox,

Here is the bucktag information off of an 83 GT in the Junkyard. I will try and get the complete VIN for you this afternoon as it didn't have a door tag on it, the VIN on the dash was buried and I was short on time.

    Looked like a decent car.

    Abandoned? Impounded? Theft recovery?

Whatever, it looks like a waste.

I found absolutely no rust on this car. The underside, frame rails and floorpans were clean enough to eat off of. Whatever the reason this car is here, it is sad.

I'm really tempted to go get the uncut dash hull out of it as it appeared crack free also.

I bet the doors and seats were mint too... thus they are gone. Why someone mutilated those front fenders and lifted the rear glass from a clean hatch? I know that's what happens in a pull a part but it's sickening.

I'm also guessing that might be original paint

Even worse, the rear seats were pulled out and thrown on the ground to use as a cushion. They looked mint up until that point, good cloth, not really faded and no tears but now they are full of grease, oil and footprints.

Not sure on that since there was no door tag to be found. I can't imagine someone removing it without it being a repaint.

Well in a weird twist of fate, I found a PO when I posted this on F.B.. A guy out in Lincoln owned it and a couple years ago, sold it to a father/son duo who wanted to restore it. Here are some pics of what it looked like before he sold it. Needless to say he was pretty bummed that this car ended up here.

That car looks to be in better shape than mine was, body wise, when I got it.

It is a waste and sucks to see these cars end up this way. I have to say, yes these pull a part places and people, really do damage a lot taking parts off. I do have to say though, these cars are going to the crusher with or without good parts on it. I'm guilty of messing some parts up to get to what I need. Too many a time I said to myself since I don't have the right tools I'll come back, just to return a day or two later to find the car was hauled away to the to be crushed section with all the parts I needed and wanted.
