Default 1986 Hatch 4 cylinder 67,000 original miles

    SOLD!: 1986 Ford Mustang
    $1300 obo
2.3 Liter 4 cylinder automatic. 67,000 + ORIGINAL miles. Clean title.
    San Antonio, Texas

The car was purchased special order new in 1986 by a recently passed woman. The car was passed to her daughter that mostly ignored it for the past two years before selling it to me. She had a variety of maintenance done at MD Automotive off 1560 and it runs very well now.

After I bought it, I had Midas change the oil, flush the power steering, brakes and coolant. I had the car inspected (it passed) though I never registered it. The car has purely surface rust (I found no pitting) so I began sanding and priming. I put additive to the fuel tank and fresh gas to help get rid of any gunk that may have accumulated while it was sitting.

The interior is complete. The dash has NO cracks - unusual for these Mustangs. Factory radio and tape deck included. Factory wheels and original hubcaps are in great shape. Tires are decent. The driver's seat was broken. I installed some seats from an 1989 GT while I waited to get them repaired, but I have not done that yet. I will include both sets. Includes two sets of spare keys.

To put it diplomatically, the old lady that drove the car was apparently not very coordinated. The car has multiple signs of low speed driving mishaps.

Additional maintenance is required: the smog pump belt was removed, probably frozen. A/C blows hot. The heater core is bypassed. The original may have leaked, but I don't know. I may have a spare core laying about, so I'd be happy to include it.

I will also include a car cover (worth about $50) and cans of the primer I was using.

I originally intended this to be a daily driver + project car, but I'm "taking the oath of poverty" and going back to college. Please help me find a good home for this incredible survivor!

I will also post locally (CL, FB). Please message me or call 210-287-9110. Thanks!

I'm posting here first since I'd prefer it would go to a four-eyed enthusiast.

It IS a sad story. I corrected some information about the car.

It's a survivor, no doubt. Hoping it can find a good home for someone that would either restore it or make it a rat rod.
