It's a 1988 in Medium Cabernet with Scarlet cloth interior. 75,400 miles. Mods include a BBK cai, off road h pipe, flowmasters, Nitto NT555s in 235/45/17 on front and 255/45-17 on back on chrome Cobra Rs, welded subframe connectors, and a steel 2" cowl hood. Got a pretty good deal on it like a FEP level deal. It still has the factory 2.73 gears which I will probably go to 3.27s or 3.55s and convert it to MAF.

Nice car, good luck with it.

Might I recommend SVO/cobra tail lights and a cobra rear bumper with LX straight pipes? The only 2 things that I don't like about aero GTs-cheese grater lights and rear skirt with turn downs. Otherwise they look awesome.

I'm the opposite, I like how it is now, you don't see them original much anymore and this one is in great shape. I wouldn't change a thing
    Good luck with it!

My interior is exactly like that - below the windows... Mine was Dark Cabernet Red on the outside, and might be again some day.

I wish ours was still in the same condition as the pics, I haven't had it running right in a few years, need to get back at it someday soon.

Very nice ride. Loved them when new and nothing has changed in 30 years, LOL. Does it have too much power for you? I can't think of another reason why you would want to take away horsepower by converting it to MAF unless it was too fast.

Thanks for the comments! I was keeping my eye out for a 4 eyed car, and have been for a while, but then this '88 showed up right across the street from where I work, and it was pretty tempting so I went to look at it and decided to go for it. It's a nice driver quality car. I've been doing little projects here and there to get things back in order as I go. Here's the list of what I did so far.

Replaced the fuses in the fuse box with the correct amperage where needed.

Got the horn working again (The foam broke down between the horn contacts so it would blow by itself. I stuck the soft part of velcro between them to separate them)

The PO had some subs in it, but left the wiring so I pulled out the amp power wire and fixed the stereo wiring

replaced bulbs in the gauge cluster

got the windshield washer working again (The nozzle was clogged so I unclogged it and installed a filter in the hose)

replaced the Jeep rubber diamond plate floor mats with carpet ones

Changed the transmission fluid and discovered it has an adjustable clutch cable and a double hook aluminum quadrant, looks like a BBK or SR brand. The cable needed adjusting so I adjusted it while I was under there. It needs a firewall adjuster.

Thanks, yea I gotta do something to slow this pony down before it runs off without me!

Na, what I'm planning on is GT40 heads, Explorer intake, and a Trick Flow stage 1 cam so I'm gonna need the MAF.

FoxResto sells a cheap kit to repair that horn button that works great and is easy to install.

That's cool, I'll have to pick one of those horn button kits up. My velcro works well enough, but it would be better to have it the factory way. I never thought about the horn foam being reproduced! I'm still used to having an old car like my Zephyr where most of the parts had to come from parts cars!

    NICE!

For some reason I wasn't able to see the pics in the first post until today. It was worth the wait!

Hit the salvage yard Friday and picked up some misc items. Did a little more to the Mustang.

    New antenna mast

Replaced the vacuum lines under the plenum.

The driver's window motor gear plugs shredded and jammed up the motor so I cleaned it out and replaced the gear plugs.

Got the map light working, the switch wasn't making good contact.

The windshield tint was well below the legal line so I removed it. Windshield tint was never my thing anyway.

Changed the oil and got a FL-1A on there. While I was under it I checked out the underside of the car, and it's straight and rust free. Carfax shows it's lived in Texas, Oklahoma, and Arkansas so that explains the lack of rust. It was sold new in Plano, TX.

Then I cleaned it up and waxed it for the first time and did a quick photoshoot with a real camera. The first pics were right after I got it with my phone.

Swapped out the factory 2.73 axle for a 3.27 axle from my parts car!

With updated heads/intake and what appears to be Flowmasters...it needs a set of less restrictive 2.5" mandrel bent tailpipes in place of the factory crush-bent pipes. Sharp car!
