Default Made Something for my GT350

    Check this out.
I spent my last couple of lunches drawing this up in Solidworks.
One of the other Engineers has a 3D printer so he printed it for me.
You have to excuse my bad paint work. I was excited to finish it and rushed.
I'm going to make custom burgundy carpeted truck lining panels and mount it in the trunk.

Oh yeah, That's my original dash horseshoe. I'm an Engineer for a company that makes vacuum coating machines and one day, they happened to be running gold....so.....

    What do you think?

The Key chain was from Flea-Bay. There's still a few out there.

Do you think you could make the square limited edition plate? One day I will find an original but until then I'd love to have something close.

Yeah, I have an original one but it's not for my car. It didn't have one when I bought it.
I actually drew it up this morning over a cup of coffee. looks pretty good.
Since I don't know the real Serial # of my car, I made one as Serial # 0350 and put my name on it.
I'll make a couple of blanks too.

Very nice Jules ! I would love to get one of the large horseshoe emblems if you decide to run any more. The dash emblem in gold looks great. I just purchased a original horseshoe badge and it is missing the red, white, and blue enamel. I'm checking into the possibility of having someone re-enamel the badge. Again, great job on the large horseshoe !

    Check these out.
They don't look that bad, but I'm gonna modify the 3D model.
The serial number didn't really come out as well as I would have liked.
I think the plastic the printer used is the limitation. Hard to read the number after paint fill the cuts.
Same for my name. I'll make them wider for the next run.
    I painted them Ford Platinum.

The middle one is the one I bought for my car off another GT350.
I had that Gold plated too.

Crimson_Stang and Scott, I sent you guys a pm.

I'd be interested in one of the LE plates. I can PM you my info and remit whatever the cost. The dash looks so empty, the shadows or the sun fading evidence is there but the badge and plaque are long gone.

Yea, those plates look like they were printed with an FDM printer (https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Fused_deposition_modeling).
Even $$$ industrial FDM printers require work afterwards to look anything even close to molded parts.

There are a few options to smooth FDM prints. The new polysmooth filament and smoother would be the easiest ( http://www.polymaker.com/polysmooth-...r-kickstarter/ ).
Otherwise, it get's involved, more time consuming, can require more artistic talent, and the results can be less consistent.

The metal piece looks like is was likely done with something like direct metal laser sintering ( https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Direct...aser_sintering ).

Btw, the large piece that you did looks very good!
