CHROME handles & locks but BLACK ignition cylinder?

I need to order a new ignition cylinder for my 86 LX. The handles and lock cylinders are chrome. The ignition cylinder is black. Is this combo normal? Or was a chrome cylinder replaced at some point with a black one?

I believe the chrome ignition cylinder would have been original. So most likely someone replaced your cylinder at some point in time.

You should be able to replace it with a new chrome one from most parts stores.

Thanks. I ordered chrome. As soon as I go through the bitch of getting the old one out, I'm sure my keys will show up. Ugh

I have a 1986 LX Coupe, made late in the model year. chromed outside door handles and locks, with black ignition...I have owned my since new, it is original.
