I’m typically not a fan of silver but on foxes it is nice. Looks great

It's #50 of 75 of the 1B (Medium Charcoal Metallic) cars. Has the hint of silver but lives between pure silver and dark grey. Clear should be on. Next step was to paint the Black Trim pieces. I am stopping by on Monday (Pres Day Holiday) to deliver some door and hatch weather stripping so may have more to share.

    Nice nice nice.
A pleasant feeling to see care taken on something older and special that survived being thrown away prematurely.
The color shows better on this car's smoother styling than it does on regular new vehicles.
Newer cars have more angled body lines that sort of shadow a color into different shades that can look like body damage.
$$$ for a like new car, memories, and class. No dream. When possible this is what $$$ are for.
Many times, worked a little ot for extra money, being repairs or enhancing mods.
Extra costs and labor always have faded away over time, once results are experienced and shown for.
Glad i spent all the time and money to get mine back on the road in 2000 after 10+ years.
The work since has been ongoing rather than doing major downtime.
Is same or better the 2nd time around. 3rd or more time is not out of the question for a keeper.
Turbo 4 engines are back in style more than ever. Our cars still function fine in modern lifestyles.
    Luv daily driving a 2.3T.

Not sure which trim pieces you are referring to, but most of the trim on an 85.5 SVO will be the charcoal grey and not black. The door handles, antennae, wiper blades, and door lock trim should be black. Obviously your car, so you can paint trim any color you want, just wanted to make sure you were aware of the differences if you were interested in staying original. Good Luck!

Yep, should have been more specific! The metal trim pieces around the front window and rear hatch. Sorry for the confusion! New dew wipes going on as well.

Stopped by to drop off some weatherstripping for the doors and hatch to replace the old, and snapped a few more pictures. I am working to clean up the original SVO wheels, and will put them on if/when the car goes into a car show. He is going to paint the aftermarket wheels with the color of the car (just in the middle part that is already painted) to match for when I daily drive it. More pics to share....

If you have followed this journey, you know one of the biggest battles I have fought is the dash wiring. I have decided not to fight and invested in a Dakota Digital Dash cluster. It doesnt have the turbo boost, but that I have wired to the cowl gauges so it's right in front of me. The car was too far gone to be a 100% restore, but I am doing the best I can to be as true to it as I can.

I just received the dash cluster today and look forward to the install once the car is put back together. Some pics:

Working on cleaning up the original wheels. Getting there, definitely looking better. A pic of one cleaned and another in current crappy state (Left one looked like the right one before cleaning and polishing)

Cool to see a SD Mustang! Vermillion? I lived in RC for my college years and my brother and I rolled around in my 83 RS Capri and his 86 score. Later I moved to Sioux Falls for several years after that. I miss SD.

I'm south of Sioux Falls about 30 miles. Not a lot of foxbodies left around here. Hoping to take this to Sturgis (Coronavirus willing!) this fall! Not many SVO's show up at their mustang rally.

    Everybody stay safe and healthy!

A request was made to show pics in the sunlight. I have a few on my trailer and a few more inside my sons shop as we get ready to put in the digital dash, repair the rear brakes (someone stripped all brake tubing to the rears for some crazy reason) along with fixing anything else mechanical.

The Dakota Digital Dash is installed. My friend doing the work (I abhor and am terrible with electrical wiring) told me the underdash wiring came out of an airbag foxbody car (91 or newer). He eliminated all of the non-essential wiring, and I had to source pigtail ends for the turn signals and the wiper motor. He was able to get everything working (lights, hatch, dome light, turn signals, etc.)!

He should have the last little bit completed on Monday/Tuesday (needs to calibrate the GPS speedometer module by driving it and clean up the codes in the dash. Got to love that 4x4 message in the picture!!) and this thing is coming home. Once home, the stereo goes in, some rear hatch area work and it'll be ready for whatever car show circuit is around this summer.

A picture and a couple videos to view.

Vids of the dash are on private so I couldn't view them. Looks good in the pic you posted though.

Is he going to install the 2 "optional switches" that allow for adjusting the different settings once it's all set up? Are you using the DD "dimmer" switch too?

Oops, didnt finish the publish step. Videos should be public now. Nothing super special but fun to shoot. I did not get the dimmer switch. He did install the adjusting switch that came with the dash, it is just under the headlight switch if you look there in the dash video, at about the 2 second mark. Its quick but you will see it.

I am also rethinking the cowl gauges, as I have a second temp gauge there now and may replace that. The boost gauge will stay.

Needed some pics with the cleaned up original wheels. Just received the full exhaust setup from Stinger Performance on Saturday. Once I get that on, this one is in the books. I will take a video of it once that is done. Enjoy the pics. This one has been fun, ready for those car shows we don't seem to be having right now.
