Sorry to hear that your buddy got injured!

Sometimes we are reminded of the high price of doing what we do to make a living. Sucks when it happens!

I travel a ton for work. That reminder was very real for me at knifepoint in one of the cities I frequent. Luckily I was smarter than the idiot with the knife and able to defuse the situation quickly — but I for sure haven’t forgotten it!

I hope you and yours stay safe from here on out — good luck with your SVO project!

Thanks guys. He's going to be alright, and still plans to paint the ole girl but it'll probably be this winter sometime. He was real lucky. Erratic, that just sounds scary. Glad things turned out alright.

A bit more trim painting and installation. Need to work on the passenger kick panel as there are a lot of wires there from the new engine wiring harness but overall she is cleaning up. Center council isnt attached as I am waiting for the MGW short throw shifter and seat belt covers which arrive Wed. Once i get those installed (I have the MGW in my other 2 fox body's) then I will finish the interior installation including front seats. It should be ready at that point for just the body/paint. One more picture..

Paint and body after interior?! I’d send it for paint with a 5 gallon bucket for a seat and an empty interior unless you have someone as careful as Trey working on it!

Plus the smell of the booth ...... and that cloud of fine dust — just doesn’t come out.

If doing just an exterior repaint then having the interior in the car isn't a big deal. If door jambs, etc. have to be sprayed because of a color change or just a complete repaint, then I definitely recommend pulling the majority of the interior out of the car.

Just an exterior repaint after a few minor dents fixed and some minor rust repair. Cant speak to my guys talents vs. Trey, but he was perfectly fine with the interior going back in and suggested it after he got hurt. Guess time will tell if that was the right choice.

I am sure you guy will do just fine. Sounds like an exterior refresh, so shouldn't be a big deal. The only issue I see is the side spats can't be removed without pulling the interior quarter panels because the mounting bracket bolts thru the lower portion of the quarter. I personally strip all my cars down because I HATE tape lines and I don't like bridging of the paint over gaps etc. So I remove all trim, door handles, etc. which requires me to disassemble the car much further than others might. That's just the way I have done it forever and it works for me. Others do things different. I am very anal retentive about some of this stuff, so I can be a bit more obsessive with little details that often others don't see. It's a blessing and curse all at the same time. I honestly am hardly ever thrilled with any of my final work, because I still see small imperfections that irritate me. Luckily 99% of the times what I see are things that No One else ever does or will so . . . I can thank my Air Force Fighter Pilot Father for making me a neurotic perfectionist.

The SVO spats can be removed with only taking out the rear seat bottom and the small "access panel" at the base of the QP plastics. It's def easier with the entire QP plastic panel out, just saying.

You are probably correct, but I am getting too old and less flexible for those kind of contortions!

No new pictures, just an update. Got word Wednesday we are about 2 weeks out from car being done. Good news I was told "car was pretty straight, didnt need to do much to it" so at least the canvas was good! Pictures posted when I can. Once back home, time to work on hooking gauges back up (only have tach working right now). Should be ready for summer car shows!
