Now that is a very very clean looking coupe. The TRX's look great on it.

Already had the ponys so thankfully no tires needed to be purchased! Yay me, LOL. These are 225 55ZR16 Continental Extremes.

Hey Homer302, that car look simply AMAZING! Love the look of the original TRX wheels on the 79-84's.

I meant to mention this in my post. They don't say anything about it on their website but you will need SERIOUSLY long lug nuts. I don't believe a lug nut exists today that would actually reach all the way to the edge of the center cap. I am actually running original factory installed at Ford 1984 TRX lug nuts with these and they are one inch (yes I measured) from aligning with the edge of the center cap. I believe the original TRX rims were forged (just my guess, don't take it as the gospel) and these are definitely cast so I guess they had to make them thicker to be as strong maybe? Just wanted to mention it. It was obviously not a deal breaker for me but I was really surprised how far the center comes out compared to a stock TRX rim and center.
Seems petty to some of you I am sure and that's cool. I just think they would look better if the lug nuts came at least close to meeting the edge of the center cap is all. Obviously it was not the end of the world to me because I kept them and I love them.

Which tires did you wind up going with?

Continental Extreme Contacts and I love them. They definitely come wider than the size suggests. They have a low tread life rating which is totally fine with me. For these cars, I always AGE tires out before I WEAR them out so I have no issue with that. They are sticky and wide for the size. I would recommend them. If I was daily driving the car I would go back with Bridgestone Potenzas but those are noticeably skinny even in the same size but they have a longer tread life. They are a good performance tire if mileage is a concern. It's not to me on this car.

Either way, looks like they definitely don't come with them now based on the website

They were never advertised as coming with lugs/locks. Not sure how you got that, unless you ordered them separately and forgot Not that I need them as I have my originals.

Capri/Mustang TRX wheels were forged 1979-83 and cast 1984-85.

    According to the LMR site:
    Dia:16" Width: 7" Offset: 4.73mm Backspacing: 4.73" Bolt circle: 4.5"

I dont know why they used metric for the offset?

    Cheers

Offset in mm is industry wide now. Thanks for the info.

HA. You already have a used set of these? That may be one of the first second-market transactions for a set! Did you get centers and tires and all?

Yessir, I have the original set on my 84 Turbo GT but the tires are not roadworthy. The new LMR wheels did come with tires and caps. Hard to call them used since they only have about 600 miles on them.
