Default Defrost yellow wire has blue fuse link to tan/orange wire ?

Trying to figure exactly what this wire is. Car is a 2.3 turbo. The wiring is located in a sub harness that have fog light wiring, the big yellow wire which I believe is defrost, and has another wire I don't recognize.

The yellow wire is not hooked up. I don't recall that it ever was. Even though my car originally had rear defrost, it no longer does. Could this be a fuse link for the fog lights? And the color and the diagram is wrong?

The other black wiring you see, goes directly to the fog lights

This is where it comes out of the firewall.
I can't find anything showing this circuit in any of the Ford EVTM books

    Your wires are shown here:
    http://www.mc-machine.com/pdf/1984.pdf

The gray connector hanging near your brake rotor is C-322 and is shown in the diagram on pg 1, zone A 10. To the right of it (on the diagram) is 37 YEL, splice S-1031 which leads to wire 302 DB (dark blue), to another splice S-1032 to wire 470 TAN/ORG. I dont think the blue sleeve on your harness is a fuse link but the splice S-1032.

    Good luck

LoL. I just found the same link googling for answers. Its the power for the Fog lights. Weird place to pull it from, but explains why my fog lights never worked. I dont think its had the wire the whole time I owned it.

    Thank you

This is interesting. I've been trying to figure out how to add fog lights to my early 84 and I never would have thought the wires would be on that side of the car.

I was surprised too. I guess it makes sense though.
