"Bad ass car" A high complement from him, a long time owner of a 10 sec 70 Chevelle SS and many other muscle cars over the years.
The Pantera must have sounded unusually wicked.
May luck out and catch it at a local show.

    Me too.
Gets adrenaline going to be driving a fast car among fast cars.
You would think they would go at it a bit.
Thru a gear or two full out.
Thing is, with old cars, though never know when something will break.
Got to memorize your car sounds when normal.
Engines and transmission gear sounds. Great to hear in videos.
Interesting to ride along in cars or whatever. Trucks, ships, aircraft.
'Rode' in an Cat earthmover last week. Good long video.
I need to hear an old 2 cycle Detroit every now and then. Never forget the sounds.

Sound wise, 'slow' old muscle cars were just right. A 69-70 Boss 302 going normal thru gears is a fav..

Hopefully more old cars will be out cruising this year. No masks or hand washing needed when driving.
Park and sit is ok but may not be as easy 6' apart, if allowed at all. Lots of shows/cruises are cancelled.

I prefer cruising. Slow driving sounds can be just as enjoyable as fast blasts.
Stock muscle cars always had the mellow blend of sounds from start up to redline.
Harmonics not found in newer cars. The rough rides and rattles. Radios were only for the calm moments.
13-14 even 15 second cars seem to be about right. Tamed to enjoy, fast enough to get respect.
A total experience. A factory solid lifter engine tapping at the light was and is special.
Its a Chevy but bear with it. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=MampOXnU7-c
Ford and Mopar had performance cars with similar sounds.
Even my T-5 has a bit of that whine in 3rd gear.

A lot of this is lost in real fast modded cars or the new performance cars.
Mechanical noise combo is different if there at all. Everything happens real fast, over too quickly.

Good question. One I couldn't answer!

Wikipedia says the "North American" market so assume USA also:

"Volkswagen Group of America marketed variants of the Gol (manufactured by Volkswagen do Brasil) in North America as entry level models from February 1987 until 1993 under the Volkswagen Fox nameplate. It was intended to provide Volkswagen dealers with a competitor to the then very successful Hyundai Excel and Yugo low-price cars.[7] Initially offered as a two-door and four-door sedan as well as a two-door wagon, the wagon was discontinued for model year 1991 along with the two-door sedan for the Canadian market. That same year the remaining Fox versions received a mild restyling.
    All North American models employed a longitudinally-mounted inline-four 1.8 L gasoline engine producing 81 hp (60 kW) at 5,500 rpm and 93 lb⋅ft (126 N⋅m) of torque at 3,250 rpm.
Early models (1987–1989) featured Bosch CIS-E type Jetronic electro-mechanical fuel injection, using an oxygen sensor to assist in fuel management. Later models (1990–1993) employed Bosch Digifant electronic fuel injection. In Canada from 1987–1989 it was offered with the simpler Bosch CIS fuel injection system without an oxygen sensor for the engine fuel management system.
Over the course of its model history, trim levels included base Fox, GL, GTS, GLS, GL Sport, Polo, and a Wolfsburg Edition."

Annual July cruise M-24 Telegraph Rd south of I-94 2 miles hot spot. Dry and hot out.
Another "cancelled" cruise. Who needs sponsors, promoters, portajohns, to attend?
1000's of spectators, bbq, quick shades, 100's of cars parked and cruising, some till 1am Fri nite.
Forgot about the event until reminded by seeing a Gremlin with slicks headed toward.
Some cars were seen a month ago at another cruise 7 miles east.

73? Merc Montego, 73 Mustang verti 351 2v, white wall, factory 1973 slot mags.
Sumped and vapor locked? white Camaro Z28 (350) in background. Wife brought ice for the ele pump.
