That is so cool! What an opportunity. I would kill for that opportunity. That is SOOOO far ahead of the GT500 it isn't funny. The MACH1 can cost as much as that if optioned up. What a joke. It's the performance bargain of the world. I have to say I absolutely hate that row of buttons though and I hate that they are all automatic. I have had manual transmissions since the late '80s. Still do. Everything on the property is manual still to this day.

I agree about value. Would be a no brainer. This car felt mature to be in no gimmicks, flash, or rice.
The turn signal blinker clicks were easily heard. For the older drivers. No driving for miles with one on.
Hidden outside door handles a neat touch. Could not find at first. Where would i put one? Yup there it was.
When it was my turn, could not get the car to move.
Every attempt (5x) pushing the pedal to go, car would move a bit and stop.
Was pushing the brake pedal......Am used to my car in that right foot position.
And getting back in my car after surprisingly did not take any mental adjusting like from truck to car.
Drove it briefly and slowly in a neighborhood 2nd gear tops.
Was warned be extra easy with the throttle- car comes around quick. Car trolls side streets easily like a 4cyl.
The dual clutch automatic is fine. Would not want to deal with a clutch or shifter with that kind of power.
Has paddle shifters of course. Revs quick to 4k from idle and in neutral or park.
Had front end lowering system. Could do that manually. Senses driveways.
The backlit console buttons have stuff like driver/pass heat/cool. No need to scroll the dam touch screen.
The touch screen has everything, is used to preset button functions or change tons of items and configurations
Fuel econ said ave 27 mpg. Horn is not as loud as others.
Could not see the engine. The top folds back there so it is covered.
Forward visibility is great. Fenders, hood, A pillar, do not intrude. Has clear simple heads up display. Speed, gear.
Rear is not bad much better than most new cars. Has many cameras. 'Gauges' are LCD.
Weaving the car at 10 mph is rock solid quick, steering feel is adjustable.
Small deep trunks ft and rear. Rear holds the traditional 2 golf bags

Seen at weekly Friday Bruce Post car show, St Clair Shores Mi on Lake St Clair (in the background).
Perfect day, sprinkled just as show ended. Food, music, shade, covered picnic area, clean restrooms.
Very few new cars, lots of old owners. One person had a birthday everyone sang with the dj.
Excellent cars about 40 cars in the grass at one time, more in the parking lot. The usual 50/50 raffle.
Real hemi mopars, mostly 30's to 80's american made cars. Seen a Olds W30 and a W31 in less than a week.
This friday prob will not be good. A few storms predicted plus annual June fishfly bombardment from the lake.
Second 2021 local official sponsored cruise with car shows is Saturday in nearby Eastpointe MI.

This was a pretty unique take on a Capri that was at Street Machine Nationals. I just now noticed the round Mercury emblem in the grille. That's awesome.

    Default 1971 Boss 351

Long time family friend (sis' ex's brother) recently picked up this one.
We both had new 79 Mustang turbos at the same time. Me the Cobra, him a PC. Whole family is Ford blue.
You can bet will be insisting to get a ride in this one in 2022 when i see him.
Want to hear those solids tapping, exhaust notes, and in car sounds.
Light Pewter Metallic and Black Corinthian Vinyl.
Only have pics right now. no a/c, no p/s. Needs dash pad, s wheel is cracked.

    Default the boss is crabby

    Was sent more pics today.
Almost ordered a new 73 Mach 1 for 4k. 14 mpg. Then the oil embargo happened.
The graphics on this car are way better looking than a 73, especially the simple Boss 351 call outs.

Car needs cleanup and detailing. Owner creating new parts list. Id add a backup camera for sure.
With manual steering and bad visibility, car must be a total bitch to maneuver and park at a car show.
Am told the engine runs rough. Has not been started in years. Was started using the gas can procedure.
Wonder if anyone checked the inside of carb, fuel pump, the dual points and set the valves recently?
Maybe no one is old enough to know how. I do.

Still have a RS dwell tach. Has remote start and can bump the engine over. Great for setting valves and points.
Sure beats the screwdriver/Ford fender solenoid trick, or getting in and out of the car 10x for sure.

That Boss's interior looks odd. Standard seats and steering wheel, but deluxe door panels, a console and instruments. I have a 73 so can pick out things like that. It just seems to have a mismatched bunch of interior trim options. Would be interested to see the Marti report.

It is odd. Seen the same. Seats look totally redone. Did not spring for deluxe comfort weave covers. Thats ok.
Maybe had a rim blow wheel and got changed out. Or production glitch? Will know more soon. Someone knows.
The parts mix on any car due to lack of availability of correct replacements at the time can be a challenge.
Or simply leave that and other things as is for the next owner to play with.
Former owner has 2 GT40's am told so what did he really care. Both of the Boss' owners are Ford dealer new car mgrs.
Am for sure going to remind get the Marti and msrp sticker on it. It will be at local car shows and has to have them.

We laugh -owner picks up really fine Fords, keeps for few years. PC, 90's SHO, 93 Cobra, o2 Cobra verti, 84 GT 350.
He would own a hundred if possible. Does one at a time. No automatics. Loves to talk Ford product details new and old.
His middle bro and another friend had new back to back vin same color Shelbys. Has a 69 Mach 1 428.
Oldest bro has 66 Mustang ht and 68 Fairlane fastback. Nothing is raced, just driven and shown off.
Most of the work on them is farmed out due to normal space, time, savvy, family priorities.
Our and his family will always be trusted family. We love our fast cars, get togethers, opinions good and bad.

Thing is with cars like this cant really keep them safely in sight nor out of sight.
Will keep updating the real story of one 71 Boss Mustang. Like the missing intake bolt by the dist.
Reminds one, if anything how much easier our newer but old cars can be to work on and drive.

Oh man that KFC lineup is bad and funny. Strange stuff you see somehow never forget or figure out.

A close friend still recalls the last time he visited a certain Detroit branch of a chain chicken store.
We stopped there many times 'midnight ramblin' weekend joyriding in the early 70's.
While eating in the parking lot one night few years later, (Bill) said he realized there was a funeral chapel next door.
Never went back. Said the food was not as good as it used to be.

Same brand with newer chicken coop:
