AWESOME. I've been admiring these lately. Such a gorgeous body style! Lame that it was one year only! Sleek and curvy, with such great lines! My dad prefers the '65-66, but I think these are the perfect realization of the design theme. Just the right amount of curves. The following designs were TOO bloated.

Default 'New' 1964 Jeep seen yesterday

Would that not be cool if we could redo ours like this easily?
Never seen one at this level of condition.
1964 Jeep CJ-5 Nordic Blue, 134 CI four cyl, 14 mpg, Firestone tires, drum brakes.
Owner said original drive train, everything else new parts. Sheet metal, etc.
Floor pan side drain slots, fuel tank under drivers seat, 3 shifter sticks.

Pretty rare car. Missing fender badge. W30 (455) or calif only? 350 w/Cutlass badge on fender.
Y-77 package 350 engine did not have a cool Hurst dual gate shifter. Typical weak mid 70's. All show no go.
Bummer. Hurst cars should have Hurst items like that mandatory, no matter what marketing thinks? Or at least an option?
Either that or Hurst said no non performance cars get them? Would make a regular car more sporty
Swivel bucket seats were a pretty custom item for oem. Rare like our 4 way manual seat tracks are.

Enjoyed the pic - thanks for sharing.

had to LOL on the gutless comment! Good friend had one with an olds 350. Damn it was gutless!

We tore it down, put in flat top pistons and a nice set of rings, shaved the heads down and bench ported the heads, tossed on a decent intake and carb.... went off on cam. Added 3.73 rear gears and a shif kit in the TH350.

say Even though it was high compression and everything it was STILL gutless.

My Galaxie was a big gunboat and went around it like it was tied to a stump. An the ol 86GT was quicker and faster than the Galaxie was.

Local annual EDC cruise. North of 8 Mile (yup the movie one) to 10 mile on M-3.

Family/friends house party two blocks from cruise route. Lots of drop-bys.
    Three brothers cars: 428/4sp 68 Fairlane, 84 GT 350/5sp, 69 510/4sp Mustang.
The stock 1984 anny has less than 15k. OEM twin tips, LMR TRX upgrade. Was stored for a long time.

Threat of rain all day. Decent turnout anyway.

VP Fuels, one spot on route. 110 octane gasoline 7.99/gal at the pump. Popular item that day.
My car (was driving it) was delivered 10/78 at a Ford dealer (now a Pep Boys) across the street from the station.

It wasn't a perfect show car, had a few rock chips and some ripples in the driver's door. Didn't look inside as nobody was around, and I hate to bother people when they're not actually showing the vehicle.

In detail, it was a Merkur XR4Ti's trapped in little Euro Escort body. The car that spawned it was the Ford RS500 Sierra Cosworths which had a Pinto based 2 liter engine block, and the Cosworth Turbo YBB head. Then they added the AWD Fergassan Formula XR4x4 2.8/Scorpio 4x4 gearbox/transfer case system, and shoe-horned it all into the Front drive frame. Xtrac then did a 7 speed gearbox for it. It behaves like a rear drive car with a huge increase in on gravel or tarmac grip. I did timekeeping for the NZ round of the WRC, and youd bet your brief case on its quickness.

"Mechanical linkage, the center carb reached about 1/3 throttle then the front carb was picked up and at 1/2 throttle the rear carb tipped in. All carbs reached WOT at the same time. All 3 carbs were Identical except for the linkage. All carbs were Holley 2300 2 barrels rated at 350 CFM".

My coffee maker is from Colombia. In New Zealand, a new accounting package has been released called Pay Hero. If your native tonque is Spanish, you'll find it either funny, or, um, disturbing....

The word Pajero in English is a 'nothing' word – it doesn't mean anything. It just sounds good. ... However, Pajero in Spanish directly translates to the rather derogatorily expressive 'w@|\||<er' (For those who don't know what this word means, check it out here on Wikipedia)
We've got lots of them in New Zealand....

gr79, non center hanger float bowl Holley 2300's in the 265 to 350 range in the the IHI and truck vac governer and the Ford 7508/ 9117 series carbs are the earlier early float bowl Ford Autolite 1957-1978 or and International Harverster truck and Chev 2CG replacements,

The Jon Eyrheart air horn cut down was done by Ford on the C1 series Holleys so they could fit the planned small block and the Police Interceptor and Tri-Power Total Performance FE's.

Back then, the 348 option for 58 was the same as the 58 Olds 88 J-2 Tri-Power set up, Rochester 2 Jet.

Vacuum operated secondaires, if you like, with the earlier version of the Rochester 2CG carb like this.
