Default Lincoln LSC mesh wheels on 86 GT

currently 4 lug and picked up all the parts to do the budget 5 lug swap (mark VII rotor, ranger axles, etc..)

I have a set of Speedline Lincoln LSC wheels that I would like to run on my car and unsure of BS or offset. will these 16x7" be ok without spacers and a 225/55/16.

    thanks

    Somebody, anybody?
I am about to order tires and would like to know if the the back spacing will work before wasting money. I see that others have run these wheels, but couldn't find where anybody mentioned what needed to be done.

It kinda all depends on what you are planning on for your 5-lug swap set up?

My first post says what swap parts I'll be using. Not using sn95 stuff because it's a pain to run my skinnies in the front.

Sorry I missed that...you will need to run Aero knuckles and calipers with LSC rotors, or do the Ranger rotor (minor mods) for the small 86 brakes. Here is a pic of one running them (not my car) on the front and what appear to be Crown Vics on the rearAttachment 95782
I will try and look at my car tonight if possible-SNOWING as Im currently running Crown Vics on my 1980 with the Ranger rotor swap, I believe the LSC's have a little more +off set than the Vics

I measured the back spacing on the lsc's and I got 5 1/8". From my research, pony wheels are 4 7/8" which is only like 7mm difference. Will probably only need a very small shim to look how I want it to look.

A-ha, others are on to it. About 6.35 to 8mm gets you clear.

This is a typical SVO 16 X 7 with 5.65 inch BS/42mm offset wheel problem for guys who do the stock Fox hubs drilled and filled from 4 x 108 to 5 x 114.3, or the Ranger five stud hub swap on stock 79-93 Front ends. Often, even with 205/55 VR 16's, you'll get inner fender guard rub on lock.

Same thing if you put put 240/55 VR 390's on 4.32 inch BS/22 mm offset TRX wheels.

Each has internal rub problems without rack limiters or spacers.

How to solve it is to find your true metric offset, often called ET and stamped on the rim, or Offset, from your given quoted Backspace.

Here's a Back Space to Offset calculator. https://weldwheels.com/ccwheel/faqs/converter/

Then compare an inner guard clearance that works with your new choice.

8 mm to 6.35 mm (5/16 to 1/4 inch) wheel spacers are what you'll end up neededing at the front if you use a stock 79-93 Fox front end.
The LSC/ Conti VII is a solution.
The SN95 requires some special work to eliminate bump steer.

    For 16 x 7 Panther rims

    For 16 x 7 LSC Rims.

Using the LSC's 22.23mm ET and the Panthers 28.58 mm ET, you get the front wheels fouling more than 6 mm inboard....

You might get away with it if you do a trial fit. The 16 x 7 SVO rims with 205/55 VR 16's foul stock Ford Fox 79-93 front ends if there is no rack limiter. They are a worst case senario, and often need 20 mm spacers, almost an inch. Yours might work without, but to confirm, you'll have to trial fit.

Foxes vary in turning circle between years, so the existing 86 GT might have more clearance on full lock, and you might just get away without a spacer, but it'll be close. For safety, you need to clear everything.

Im trading for this 79 Cobra this weekend and it has what appears to be the mesh wheels, will probably be changing them out to something else. Will let you know whatever I can on measurements etc. when I get it this weekend.Name: 1.jpg
