    I was told in the 90's to run this, and Not had any problems since I been using it. Read the last line. Oh ya it was hard using a GM product in a Mercury.

    Wow lots of info. I do have some BG synchromech at work that I could use. I have a T56 in my cobra and I run Mobil 1 synthetic atf fluid. But I just want to run the proper stuff in my T5.

    So in my 84 svo i should go with ATF? needs to be changed.

    I pulled the T5 from the donor car and it has the red atf fluid in it. Fresh fluid too.

    I dumped cheap autozone brand atf in my 2001 t-5 when I did my swap. Felt and drove fine to me, but I haven't driven many other t-5 cars.

    OK guys, I'm in a particularly pedantic mood today, and... There is no "T" in Dexron. Never was.

    It's neither.

    It's just "Fox". If you must have something more than that then it's the Fox platform, or "chassis".
