Check EBay for headers. They have both shorties and long tube avail. Personally, I am going with the shorties on my 86. I am following WalkingTall's lead on changing over from that crappy TBI to a 500 cfm 2 barrel Holley. It would be running right now to if the weather had not dropped 30-40 degress for winter! Such is life without a garage.

"...use the the 5.0 cfi linkage set up?..."
@ a disadvantage here (Y I come to the forum). Ie: "Never seen it".
That, my brother, could solve a good deal (I understand no adaptor needed to mate AOD to the 3.. Thnx !

    Problem 2
No junk yrds here have anything over 10 y/o - all out to the crusher. Is it avail "after mrkt" (some mustang?)

    Last
I want to put the 4.2 head on to upgrade to SPFI (no tv/kick down use there. A nice 20 yr up-mod, tho).
Its all a thought in progress (not even close to any wrk yet).
BTW: as above I could use a 4R70W too if 'only way'.
I dont wanna 5 oh, I dont wanna swap ita 4.2 (whole motor) at this point, justa head (w/all the needed). My sources
    only sell a bare head.

YOUR idea means I could get Better, not Best (only efi w/sniper or other).
Might use the weber 32/36 ora holley 350...

Know how to get that TV?
