    Default $60 83 GT Convertible

Yes, that is right! Scored this 83 GT convertible today with a winning bid of $60! I have been looking all over for a good complete 83 GT hood and found this one, it is even the right color! Someone on here recently said, "...some times the sun shines on a dog's a$$ "

Foxchassis- VIN:1FABP27F9DF214164 (non repairable title so this one is likely dead)

Take a close look and see if you can find a couple of easter eggs on this deal.

Nice score. I see what looks to be a Motorsport lower front spoiler and a 140 mph speedo at least. That means you got a smokin' deal on the speedo and got everything else for free!!

Thanks guys, I'm excited about all the good parts but it's a shame that this one probably won't ever see the road again. One less of the 993. I might save the body just to keep it around. Yes, the Easter eggs are the FMS front airdam and 140 speedometer which sealed the deal for me but really I wanted (needed) the original 83 GT hood. The dash looks good and I could really use that for the red/red 83 GT project I'm on right now.

I hope that I can figure out the history of this car. With 87k on the odometer I'm guessing the odometer and airdam were installed a long time ago. The roll bar looks to be unpainted so I think maybe this was torn down with dreams of a big build but after sitting for an extended period of time the owner was forced to get rid of it so it just got donated. Who knows?

Yes, it actually is a Ford Motorsport lower air dam.

I can also see why there wasn't much interest on the day of the auction. It was completely sealed up and you couldn't see anything that was in the car. Now that its home I will unwrap it and see what we have.

Oh don't misunderstand Trey, I believe you BUT i don't trust my luck. I was hoping it was FMS but i was half expecting to see some JC Whitney style knock off. By the way when I got there I told them I wanted to inspect it in the yard before they loaded it. They gave me kind of a hard time but I was persistent. Good thing I was because the corner of the lower air dam was just resting under the core support. I was able to lift and wiggle it free and set it on top of the car but you can bet the guy with the fork lift would have just slid the forks under there and torn the lower air dam....way too much work to get out of the loader for a pile of scrap.

    Default Nice surprise bonus

I bought this mess to get the GT hood but check out the dash! No cracks! This is right after I pulled it out so I haven't wiped it down yet.
