That is not the correct speedometer. It would be better if it was a Ford Motorsport unit instead of a SSP. Should be numbered to 85 and marked to 140.

That's what I was thinking, since the speedometer was changed how do you know the mileage is right

AGREE! I would have to question the "real" mileage.

Really nice looking car, would love to see some under carriage pics. I assume by the plug thru the VIN decal that it is undercoated...

I WISH SVO prices were at this level! LOL

The finish on the rims doesn't look correct. If the SVO came with a V8 they probably would be at this price by now. The 4 cylinder stigma is what holds the values down, IMHO. It would be interesting to see what this does sell for.

    Yup, 1985 1/2 model.

Myself and a few others have asked the seller questions pertaining to the wheels and speedometer. No real answers have been given. One individual messaged just stating that they should note in their ad the speedometer isn't original as a precaution to protect the seller. They were basically told thanks and to have a good day.

No way to really know the mileage if the speedo has been changed. However the condition based on the pictures sure seems to prove it is a low mileage car. My biggest reason to refute it and not pay anything over $15k (if I was in the market) is the fact the wheels have been refurbished and tires replaced. IMO....ANY car of this age with only 8,800 miles should not have needed wheels refinished and tires replaced. Granted you wouldn't want to drive on them....the original tires should be on the car or at least included.

I have a 10K mile car and it came with the original gatorbacks and wheels in perfect condition. One thing on the wheels, if someone used the wrong wheel cleaner it will mess up the clear. Possibly what happened. Still a nice car and I wish they were bringing this kind of money.

Yep when the Barrett-Jackson 85.5 left my house at 10,600 miles the wheels were perfect with the original Gatorbacks. Last time I saw it on EBay the person selling it had ruined the finish on the wheels and replaced the tires with some El Cheapo brand tires. They also had not only doubled the mileage they put another 4000 miles beyond that amount.

Any guesses on what is the piece of electronics that is zip tied to the radiator overflow bottle? It almost looks like an ignition control module? I don't think it is though.

The wheels appear to have been painted. The color of the center caps match the wheels and I don't see a difference between the color of the "slots" and the face.

Looks like an extra wire coming off the battery. Alarm system?

I see the BIN price has been lowered...

The module on the water bottle is a mountable Battery Tender....at least that is my wager based on the electrical looking cord coming off the top and the red and black wires to the battery. I have one very similar in shape mounted to the frame of my S-281.

This is purely nit-picking, but a car like this with only 8,800 claimed miles and commanding this type of inflated price...well, painted black non-mint Marchal covers is not acceptable

Can't comment on the "mint" part, but they are correct for the SVO. The SVO received the solid black covers while the GT received the charcoal with white lettering. Different parts numbers; E4ZZ for the SVO and E3SZ for the GT.

It looks like the wheels were sprayed with Cast Iron (hood hinge paint). Also, the car probably has closer to 20K miles, since the motorsport speedo is aftermarket. Regardless, that's a $15.5K car all day long. I don't think its possible to get $29800 for it, not in today's market. (Maybe in 2030)

The last entry in the registry had it at 8300 miles on 12/08/2011. It looks exactly the same as it does now.

I still don't think it's the original mileage based on some of the issue with the vehicle. $10K at the most.

The car's real value is really what someone is willing to pay for it. An SVO mustang buyer is a particular type of car person. That car sure is nice in the pictures not sure its 30 grand nice.
