Proper Torque Settings - Main Cap Bolts
Just started re-building my first roller 5L block and I have conflicting reports on the torque settings for the main caps.
Initial findings show 60 - 70lbs for the inner main cap bolts and 35-40lbs for the outer cap mains from everything I searched. But then I have a ford book listing 351W and 302HO caps at 95-105lbs.
What's the difference between the 302HO settings and the other settings?

what's inner and outer? front and rear? either way, 35-40 for a main cap bolt doesn't make much sense if you think about it. does it? the only way you should have something telling you a lower value is if it's specifying using something like ARP moly lube. even then it would be only slightly less.
81-95nm = 60-70ft/lbs
122-142nm = 90-105ft/lbs

I've seen a few sites like this one mention 35-40lbs for outer main cap bolts. They also list main cap bolts at 60-70lbs.

The 35-40 would be for the Boss 302 blocks outer bolts on their 4 bolt mains.
