    Default 1980 Cobra project

I picked this 1980 Cobra project car up this past August and wanted to share some pics. It needs tlc and body work, but couldn't refuse it for $500 and it will live again. The shock towers and frame rails are clean on this car! It was originally a turbo 4cyl 4 speed car. Now it has a 302, T5, and 8.8 rear. It also came with a 750 demon carb, Edelbrock intake and Holley electric fuel pump. The motor does run really well. So far just removed all the chrome trim on the fenders and quarters, cleaned up the interior a bit and pulled the transmission. The motor will be next once we get some cooler weather here.

Well said. Solid starting point. Plans are to do what, engine wise? Keep 302 or go back to TURBO 4? <<<<<<

Thanks everyone! Since everything is setup for a V8 now, I will stay with the 302. I like the sound of the 302 and it is just right for me. I do enjoy the turbo 4's that are in the SVO's, but not sure about the early turbo 4's. I have heard they are tough to get running right.

Good luck Paul. I have no doubts that it will come out as nice as your Blue notchback. Then, you and Nichole will have two sweet rides!

Thanks very much Pete! It is definitely a lot of fun and a learning experience. I know she can't wait to start doing stuff to it.
