Default READ CAREFULLY 2016 FourEyedPride Calendar Submissions Needed

If you can't take the time to read this, then you probably won't take the time to make sure you compose a good image or ensure that your submission meets all requirements. So, please, read this.

ALL FEP-covered cars are encouraged to participate:

    1978-1983 Fairmont
    1978-1983 Zephyr
    1979-1986 Mustang (including SVO)
    1979-1986 Capri
    1980-1988 Thunderbird
    1980-1988 Cougar
    1981-1982 Granada
    1982-1987 Continental
    1983-1986 LTD
    1983-1986 Marquis
    1984-1992 Mark VII

All that's required is they hold to the basic identity-preserving tenets of no nose swaps, non-Ford engines, or V8 SVOs. Showroom stock, street/strip terror, cone killer king, road race ready, cool cruiser, it's all good.

    First, the basics...

    IMAGE REQUIREMENTS:

    • Minimum size: 3375 pixels wide, 2625 pixels tall. This is roughly 10 megapixels. Images that are incredibly close to these dimensions MAY be acceptable.
    • Cars must be in-focus, crisp, not blurry or grainy when viewed at actual size (100% zoom) of the image.
    • Up to SIX pictures can be submitted by a member.
    • No people in the image. Exceptions granted for motion/action shots where the driver can be seen.
    • Maximum of 5 cars per image. Must have permission from all car owners. *
    • Do not submit cars that are not yours (unless it's a group shot including your vehicle).
    • Do not submit images you did not take without explicit permission from the photographer.**

    INFORMATION REQUIREMENTS:

    • First name of vehicle owner(s) last name is optional.
    • FourEyedPride.com username of vehicle owner(s). YES, you must be a registered member of this website, not just a social media follower. If you're not a member, register here, then introduce yourself over here. Congrats, you're now eligible!
    • Year, make, model and trim level of vehicle(s).
    • Photographer name if applicable.

    SUBMISSION REQUIREMENTS:

    • Send submissions to calendar@foureyedpride.com as attachments. Images in threads or social media posts will be ignored.
    • NO links to images (Photobucket, online albums) accepted. Do not embed the image in the email. Use the paperclip/attachment feature in your email.

    DEADLINE: November 1, 2015

    Other very important fine print:

*Pics of your buddy's car with yours is okay so long as you have permission and have disclosed that the image might wind up in a calendar for sale on this site, benefiting this site.

**Photographers own the rights to images, first and foremost. You can only send in pictures that you or your friend has taken, or those that were taken by someone who clearly let you know that you could do whatever you wished with those images. Images that have appeared in magazines, or that have someone else's watermark/name on them CANNOT be used.

By submitting images for calendar consideration, you instantly agree to the following: You give your permission for your car's image to be used in a calendar that will be sold by FourEyedPride.com for its own profit. Profits from this calendar go in to the FEP.com fund to pay for hosting, domain registration, software, etc. If you are submitting group pictures, all owners of the vehicles involved have given their permission for the above described use.

While you are on your own to take shots of your cars, we have a great thread here on how to get nice images of your cars. Please post all technical/image related questions in that thread.

thanks for getting this going! I too would LOVE to see this make. Thus, I plan to take & submit some shots, now that my car is drivable!

BTW: a little promo on the Home page may help...but I know I'm guilty of just going straight to the forums....the Ride of the month helps me go back to the home page more often...but that's on the slow too....but I digress.

Presently, we have TWO good submissions.

Only need ten more to make the calendar, but....will we get them?

Been doing some location scouting myself...
Not the "money shot", but here's a preview:

    now 50k miles - still 98% original.

Nice! I too have been scouting this week and I may have finally found a few places suitable for good pics. Now the weather needs to act right so I can try to get some clear shots.

I took a few pictures last week. It's hard finding a good location.

Just before sunrise or just after sunset is the best time to shoot....no shadows in the image. Your third image above would be great without the shadows, and move the car back about 2-3' to eliminate the edge of that green sign. Love the mesh wheel look

^^ good advise. And turn the front tire towards the camera (I've made this mistake several times in the past).

My daughter took pics of my SVO with her camera this past weekend. I'll D/L them tonight and see what they look like.

The main problem for me (and possibly others) is that I don't think my iPhone 4S has the resolution required to meet the specs above.....

If you are shooting for a Calendar or Magazine spread....nix ANY smart-phone. They use VERY tiny imagers. They do sufficient for a lot of purposes, but there is no substitute for a high quality DSLR camera for what you are trying to achieve. Size really does matter

All I have is a 10 mega pixel Panasonic camera. That was what I took the other pictures with.

I know it is a challenge to get enough high resolution images in order to make up the calendar.

I liked the cover on the 2014 calendar where it had a montage of the cars in the calendar. They could always use the lower res pictures and make some collages to fill in the months if they do not get enough high res submitted I think that would be cool too.

Not bad. I'd suggest turning the front wheels the other way - show the wheel instead of the wheel well and tire tread.

Still too much shadow from the sun. They need to be shot just before sunup, or just after sundown. The shadows make the paint and ground look "splotchy"

I'm going to re-shoot my car with my daughter this weekend as well. With the amount of sun, the paint is washed out. Here is an iPhone pic that I took some time ago and the lighting was much better.....
