Map Pockets Option?

To eliminate that sag look, I had the pockets replaced with the delete panels. It gives the door a much cleaner look.

But where do you store your maps?

1979 dealer brochure description says 'Ghia map pockets'. Plural.

I'll look at my door panels on my 79 Ghia when I get home. I can't recall at the moment but I have two sets of 79 Ghia door panels to confirm this.

My 86 GT vert had map pockets. When I replaced the crappy backer boards, I cut out small pieces of carpet and glued them into the holes the where the pockets used to attach:

My 84 LX convertible had map pockets in both doors also.

OK, responses to this thread so far are...

1983 GT conv = both doors

1984 LX conv = both doors
1984 GT conv = both doors

1985 LX (coupe?) = driver door only
1985 GT= driver door only
1985 asc = driver door only

1986 LX conv = both doors
1986 GT conv = both doors
1986 5.0L(RS) = driver door only

So far it's looking like the trend is...

(factory) convertibles = both doors
all others = driver door only

I forgot to add that my 84 GT Hatchback does not have map pockets in either door.

I would concur. My 79 Ghia had them on both. My 79 Coupe with the sport option, interior accent group, and leather seat trim only has it on the drivers door.

My 85 ASC convertible has them on both. For some odd reason my 84 SSP had them on both doors as well
