    Default t-top seal fitment

    i was wondering if anyone has close up pictures of the t-top seals at the a and b pillars so i can see how everything fits together. my car had been tampered with before i got it so i dont know how everything should fit together. the repair manual pics leave a lot to be desired in terms of detail .

    First Welcome to FEP!

    There are some slight differences in the fitment and placement depending on your year model. So it would be helpful to get your year model so that we can get the appropriate pictures relative to your vehicle.

    I have pictures of my 82 GT that I can post if they are the correct for your car.

    Thanks for the welcome and response. its an 86 gt. it is a true t-top car. the guy i bought it from had started putting new seals in. im sure he has them wrong. so ive spent the money and bought a new kit to start fresh. Ive owned a 86 gt t-top car before but never payed attention to the seals as it was a weekend warrior.

    The 1984 model was when there was a change in the weatherstripping. I believe that 10/83 is the change over month, so you have before and after that date. I will have to check my 84 RS and see what it's production date is as it might be able to work.

    I will try and check that out tomorrow and take pictures if the RS is the later production date.

    Sorry I didn't get pictures yesterday. The weather here turned bad early in the afternoon with rain showers and then I had an event for my kids. I will try and get you some pictures after work today.

    so it looks as though your lower door seal is ran into the upper t-top seal on the a and b pillars. They have my lower door seal running all the way up both pillars. i was also wondering what the seals look like at the top of pillars were in transitions into more of a flat seal for the top. i appreciate your time and pictures.
