    Default Lower Radiator Hose Collapse

I know this is probably trivial but on my 5.0 GT the lower radiator hose collapses when I rev the motor. What would cause that?

I think the hose should have a "spring" inside it to support it.

I second that. When I replaced the original hoses on my car I removed the old spring form the old hose and installed it in my new replacement hose. A local auto parts store should be able to fix you up.

I remember the spring in my older hoses, but the newer hoses no longer come with the spring for some strange reason.

Yup; the spring is it, needs to be transferred from the old hose if possible. I have a set of 3 Goodyear Hi-miler blue hoses just pulled from my '82GT WITH the spring in the lower hose I could sell If I don't need the spring for my Coyote swap.
