That whole barn find thing has gotten absurd. The one I saw last week is the true definition. 1938 Ford sedan just bought and pulled out after a 55 year storage and the paint shined nicely.
1984 Mustang GT owned since 1991 (first car). Mercury Mountaineer GT-40P engine, some suspension mods, currently undergoing a five lug SN95 brake upgrade and more suspension mods. Some minor body and interior mods have been done as well.

My 86 vert sat in my garage for 15 years under a ton of garage stuff.
When I decided to start driving it, when I uncovered it, did I find it?
It had been bracket raced a long time ago at a drag strip not too far away, but sorry no 5 point harness.

Edit "4 point, 5 point, Whatever it takes" I think most of us know where I'm digressing to.

LOL....guess my car is now classifiable as a barn find too since it has sat in the garage for almost 5 years.

Barn find is about as dumb anymore as the term rat rod..........all of them have wavered so far from the original meaning.

They're using those "power attention grabbing" words, like rare, vintage, mid-century etc...the words everyone seems to use nowadays to get people's attention. You can thank shows like American Pickers, etc for that. Everyone wants to brag about a barn find they bought, even though this one is a POS, someone will buy it and make it a legendary find of mystical proportion, put big wheels on it and lift it adding balls hanging from the back bumper.

But there really was a barn. It's just up the street that's all...

My grandpa had a 30 Model A Fordor, a 31 Model A Tudor, and a 50 F-1 Ford truck in his barn, all of which my parents and I now own. They were stored for many years but they were never found because they were never lost.

Funny I think everyone loves that term because it means they were in dry storage. Have you seen some barns? If my grandpa had put any of those three in the other end of the barn, we'd have been sweeping them out as rust particles because that end was wetter than the field behind the barn.

Best I can do is this Super Bird. I'm pretty sure I've posted it before. It's not quite a barn but has been buried for 20+ years in this warehouse.

My 83 was parked in a barn for over 10 years because the t-tops leaked and the original owner got fed up being dripped on. Sure kept the mileage down!

I think if someone uses the word "Barn Find" in their ad, it should be mandatory that they also show a picture of the barn.
