    Default wont start

    Greetings all,

last night I re-installed my carb after having it re-built for the second time and I also replaced the fuel line from the pump to the carb, now she wont start at all. the carb is popping out of the secondary side and backfiring out of the primary. she is getting fuel but wont turn over.

am frustrated and lost, any ideas?

    Thanks much

Did you remove the distributor? How about opening the air fuel mixture screws just incase they are closed.

Are your vaccum lines hooked up properly ?
Did you have a rag in the intake and did you remove it upon installing carb

Is the bottom base plate tight to the bottom of carb (has to be removed)

    Floats properly Adjusted ?
Idle mixture screw should be 1-1/2 turns out to be in a setting range to get it to fire

Did you remove plug wires ?

Thanks for all the heads up guys, I managed to crack one of the points on the distributior cap, probably while I was replacing the fuel line. Hoping that I did not damage the carb while trying to turn the car over. Actually managed to have flames in the carb once or twice before I noticed the cracked cap
