I'm fairly sure this is a GT 350, but has anyone seen one with these graphics? Could you opt out of the GT 350 striping? The current graphics look like they've been on the car since day one.

Decoding the car is the only way to verify for certain that it's a real 20th Anniversary car and not a clone or something else with badging and parts thrown on it.

Yes, it does appear to be a 20th Anny IMHO, but as always . . . Trust But Verify!

If 20th Ann, graphics are not OEM. 20th's only came as pictured in all other pics seen in this thread.......

More than likely, someone didn't like the GT-350 graphics and did THAT job to it. IMHO, I'd look into correcting it.

It does have "GD" on the door tag, so does that make it a GT350?

So if it's a real 20th Anny car, then the graphics on it right now were either add by the dealership when new or by a previous owner. It did not roll off the Ford assembly line with those graphics.

I would recommend returning it to it's correct graphics, but if you prefer the current graphics that is your choice.

    Good Luck!

So Im picking this one up this week, needs paint, top and some interior work. Car has 79K miles. mechanically its pretty sound. he did the 5 lug conversion, I know a lot of people do it but I would have rather had it 4 lug and put on correct wheels. The car is a 5.0 automatic, wish it was a 5spd but its ok.

Here is the 5.0. I hate the wheels that are on there now they are 18" wheels, So ill need to find some correct 5 lug wheels. Any suggestions on wheels would be great. possibly post pictures of wheels you think I should get.
I am not new to mustangs, my first mustang was a Red 86 5.0 with T-Tops back in 1987, it got stolen in 1992.
In 2007 i ordered a 07 GT C/S black convertible that is well known in the S197 world it is in a few vendors site for the Airlift performance Air suspension, I was on of the first mustangs on air and the first convertible on Air, car has a few sponsors. this car I gave to my son and it arrived a few days ago back east in Annapolis MD.
In Jan i picked up a 86 GT T-Top car with 40K original miles it was sitting in a garage for 17yrs until I bought it. I put it on a car carrier and drove it home from Los Vegas to Los Angeles. the car is in very good condition interior is practically new except for some fade on the from seats but not too bad from the Los Vegas sun from when the owner drove it. So i have been enjoying this car after doing some work to clean up from sitting all those years, new gas tank and other fuel cleanups. tune up and new brakes all around.
So now I have this new proect 84 GT350 convertible that I will be fixing up for my wife. Funny thing is I graduated in 1986 so I'll be driving the 86 and my wife graduated in 1984 so she will be driving the 84 convertible. my plan for both cars is to bring back to original stock look but restored.Name: Sunset shot.jpg

Found the buck tag tucked under the radiator frame and it's definately an anniversary model.

What is the last digit in the upper right corner, by the hole? (055_?) You can flip the tag over to the back side and read it (backwards) from there. How many miles or kilometers on the odometer?

Does it have any of the options on this page?... http://foxchassis.com/fep/registry/gt350/options.html (buck tag shows: A/C, cruise, defrost, power locks, power windows)

The number by the hole is "1", so 0551. The current odometer reading is 25,773 miles, which is the actual mileage. This car sat in storage for 16 years since 1993 and has been driven only a few hundred miles since 2009. It has the 20th annv. badge and the owner's plaque on the dash with the original owner's name. It is #0882.

    Options are as follows.

    A/C
    Body side protection
    Rear defrost
    Floor mats w/front carpeted
    Light/Convenience Group
    Power locks
    AM/FM cassette w/auto reverse
    Speed control
    Tilt steering wheel
    Auto overdrive
    5.0 CFI
    Interval wipers
    Power windows

Here is mine. Painted a while back and its been slowly going back together. I got side tracked with building a couple other cars. So now it am determined to finish it by Spring.

#1978 GT350, Turbo , T-top, nothing else. Was a special order from a Ford production line worker.

I am amazed at how much I have forgotten!

Pic is actually from about 5 years ago, but it looks the same sadly.

Was painted as a shell. I even removed all the glass.

Its a little further along than this. Its getting an Air to water set up being welded up right now. PIMP computer, 50 trim Hybrid, ATR header, 62lb injectors , Motorsport A237 cam and a few other pieces.

Nice...I like that! I have only seen one other GT350 that was low optioned, as most seem to be loaded. Mine is also a Turbo car that appears to have only have TRX and Moon roof options, NO A/C, power anything, defrost...nothing! Cant wait to see more of this one

Thanks. It was together for a long time. It just got to the point where the paint was too tired.

Trying to attach a picture , if it works, this was back in 1999 after the first time I saved it. I had bought it with a blown motor , bad axle and pretty tired overall.

I agree. I love them. I can say that #3608 is dead. I parted it It was gutted with structural rust.

I actually had to look at the DSO on your car to see if it was one I owned years ago. Was a Michigan DSO , but I dont think it is it. Last I saw the car is was raced in Grassroots or something like that under "Brakes for Brett" which was a charity thing. Have not seen it since.

    Talking Phlebmaster's GT350

Okay, I'll play too! My first car was an 84 Mustang L- 4 banger with a 4spd. That car was my first freedom wagon and took me from Tucson AZ all the way to North Pole AK- which is where I left her. It was the most fun for 800.00 I could have back in the day so when it finally came to buy a new project, and I came across this car from one of the members here. I was hooked!

This car is a project, but a working original specimen. I will be posting a project thread soon to outline my progress.

See the Marti Report for details on the configuration.
