    Default seat belt retractor sticks

my driver side retractor keeps getting stuck. I have to remove the rear panel, then I can easily free it in a half second. I have sprayed WD40 on it repeatedly but the thing keeps jamming up unexpectedly. I hate to have to replace all my seat belts. Repro's are costly and they don't make them with the belt adjustor in the door jam.

Anybody been able to remedy this situation before I start looking for used ones?

They sell reproduction retractors that are specific to your car. Can't remember who sells them. Maybe someone on line here can help further. We are talking seat belts here. I see no logic in skimping on safety items unless you can find used ones that are still good. After all if it was me I would be more concerned about my pink little body. Generally when they go bad they should be replaced. Not only that, the material has a tendency to deteriorate over time where the belt itself loses it's strength.

All of the front seat belts there show the retractor. It just looks a bit different than your OEM unit.

Look closely at this unit here:

    https://www.npdlink.com/store/produc...6422-5668.html

You will see the black square unit in the picture on the two belts is the retractor, then there is the coupe/hardtop upper mount for the belt, the buckle, and the lower mount down on the outer frame.

Here is another with a better picture of the black retractor: https://www.npdlink.com/store/produc...6424-5668.html

The description shows that the belts are available with or without the electrical connections and either for a coupe/hardtop or for the convertible models.
