Thanks everyone.
Yellow dust shields, that is interesting. There is SO MUCH about the details on these cars that we do not know. But trying to figure it out is kind of like a fun puzzle to me.

I'm following your inspiration Bob. I could not find the "Wildflower Blue" at Home Depot here in Canada. They had a handful of different blues but nothing close. I ended up having some actylic latex mixed with a CIL color "Azure Afternoon". I thinned it out and sprayed and then satin cleared with an aerosol afterwards.

Here is our original 1" sway bar for marking reference. I did not recreate or save them this time. Ah well.
Bob, do you have a picture of the sway bar brackets and fasteners to the frame? I'm wondering if the bracket is body color and if the fasteners are natural. Odd that the brackets are threaded on our '79 with a nut on the other side too. My '82 was not like that.
Thanks!
Your blue painting work looks like it turned out well.
I took a bunch of pictures of Sandy's 76 mile pace car at the Loveland MCA show. I "think" I have a pic of the sway bar bracket and fasteners, but I have not loaded them on the computer yet. Stay tuned.

Sway bar brackets:
First let me say thanks to Sandy for bringing his 76 mile Pace Car to the Loveland MCA show. It was by far the highlight of the show for me. I ended up taking nearly 100 pictures of the car. I do have several sway bar bracket pictures, as you will see below.....
But let me remind you that taking pictures of dark (in this case, black or pewter) parts under a car is not easy. Using the harsh direct flash from my point-and-shoot camera can sometimes distort the results. And remember, I took so many pictures, I can't really supplement what the pics show with my memory. With those caveats, let's proceed.
Here are my pictures:
It is clear the U-shaped bracket was unfinished. But the bracket on the frame rail is intriguing. It almost looks like it was originally body color, but then had part of it painted black. The black seems to be part of a continuation along the frame rail. I see/saw no evidence of black on mine, it looked like it was originally all body color.
Maybe Sandy can take another look for us and chime in with his thoughts.
