After wanting one since I was 17 I finally have a Black Magic to call my own.

I'll post some more pics later along with the story of how I found it, but for now I thought you might enjoy a couple pics of it the day
I first saw it in person.

I'll say nice find also! Wherever did you find that hiding away? It looks to be in fantastic shape on the outside!

    Thanks guys.

A while back someone had posted a stripped down rusted out BM in the fyi section and I texted it to my father (we always send links to cool cars we find). I was just like... I should just ship it over. Who cares if it takes me ten years to put it back together, at least I'll have one. I never did anything about it though.

It was maybe a week later and my buddy and I had just gotten back from working on his 79 Capri and we were out on the deck ranting about our plans when I got a text from my dad that said: "Look what I found" Rare 1983 Black.... he had been looking at an 83 RS and I figured it was jsut that car for sale again. We continued ranting for a while and when I went inside I decided to click the link. My head pretty much exploded. It was listed on Kijiji as an 83, but clearly it wasn't.

I called immediatly and had him send me more pics and info. This was exactly what I was looking for and I pretty much bought it sight unseen. I payed quite a bit less then the asking price, but probably more then I should have. Ah well, it's mine now so I'm not complaining.

It was two agonizing weeks before I could make a day for a 13 hour round trip a bit pasr Dawson Creek to check it out in person and write up the paper work.

The car is a little rough around the edges from sitting for a decade, but nothing that can't be fixed. Most importantly it's an unmolested 5.0 SROD car and it came with all the important Black Magic stuff.

FC, if you're reading this, I need to email you some info on a few different cars. I'll do so soon.

Now I'm going to pop out and poke around the car for a bit before it get's too hot out to enjoy it.

What a find, congrats! Mercury hit the nail on the head with the BM, they are great looking cars. Who doesn't love gold TRX's?
    Cheers!

Unfortunately I feel I am going to have to use my Moderator Powers for Evil at this point and delete this thread!

It is causing me way too much envy and jealousy!

Sweet Find! That is exactly what I have been lusting after for many years now myself. An original 5.0 BM with T-tops! The rear window wiper makes it even cooler!

    Congrats!

    Thank you for the compliments.

The car has a few more options then I would have ordered had I been able order it new (however I was roughly two months old when the car was built)

    AC
    PW/PD
    Looks like Premium Sound

As for the rear wiper, I would have chosen factory louvers, but the rear wiper is really cool. I don't plan to change a thing.

Always a production on my street when a new project arrives.

It was interesting unloading this one with only an ebrake to work with.

I don't think I'll start a dedicated build thread. One thread for this car should work. I've already started pulling the interior, I want to go through the car end to end. It has a few trouble spots and I need to formulate a plan.

Had enough fun in the sun for one day. Here's the car as it sits now. Still need to remove the back half of the interior but tomorrows another day.

Didn't do much with the car today due to the temperature and the fact that the car is infested with spiders. If you ever buy a car that's been sitting in BC for any length of time spray it as soon as you get it home. Going to pick up some kind of spider spray on my way home from work tomorrow.

The seats were pretty stained from a leaky t-top. The fabric cleaned up very well but the vinyl needs to be repaired. Is what it is I guess.
