    Default Evapo-rust... anyone use it?

I was watching Motorhead Garage and saw a clip about Evapo-rust. Consists of a ph neutralizer and after you are done using it, spray it on your lawn (apparently safe) and have green grass (high iron content). Strip rust and then have green lawn.... Hmmmmm

I've used it and it's freakin amazing! Check out my Saleen Air Cleaner lid resto thread here:

    And 79mustangCobra's hvac thread here:

Both of us had great results with evaporust.
    Cheers!

X3 on Evaporust. I tossed an extremely rusty caliper into it and it came out looking new with no scrubbing required.

Yep, the stuff works like a charm. You can even re-use it multiple times! Put your parts in on Monday, and by car work time on Saturday they'll be like new. It also only "attacks" rust, it leaves all other metals untouched.

A friend of mine who runs a restoration shop uses it all the time. He went through numerous gallons restoring a complete basket case of an amphicar last year.

It also removes the original finish such as cadmium, zinc and phosphate. Be prepared to cover the bare metal. It does not remove paint well unless there is rust under it. I hear it works even better when heated.
