Ok guys the body is done. The garage is prepped for painting.
She is wet sanded smoother than a baby's axx.
Now I just have to do some masking and taping, and it's on to spraying some color.
Wish me luck. I hope the color lays even and the clear flows glossy.
Here are a few more pics just before the big day, or days of paint.

    Lookin' good!

Nothing covering that nice concrete floor?
    Painter's canvas drop cloth?
Costs more, but absorbs wet paint and is reusable.
Wet paint on cheap plastic drop sheets is hard to see and can be tracked via shoes.

Nothing covering the floor in the pictures. In the past I have used two different methods on the floor.
I either just wet the floor, or put down fresh clean cardboard. Both seem to help hold down dust and stop paint from sticking to the floor.
The pictures don't show it, but I have now installed furnace filters in the window, and the 4 foot attic access hole in the ceiling.
I made frames from 2x2s and notched them out with my table saw so the filters would fit inside.
I bought 1/4" sheets of OSB to stand up across the garage door opening. With the door open, they slip up in against the inside door frame.
They will be secured to the door frame with some drywall screws.
I cut holes in 3 of them and screwed 20" box fans to them. My amatuer version of a paint booth.
I have about $100 into the materials.
I have found that wetting the floor works well, but it drys fast, especially with a lot of ventilation. It is just one more thing to do when your busy painting and trying to keep a wet edge.
I laid down some cardboard last night after I finished masking the car. I will wet it, and it holds moisture without evaporating as quickly.
There is a fine line with wet cardboard. just the right amount keeps down dust and dirt and the card board holds together.
Too much water and it pulls apart and makes a mess.
It's not hard to make it work with a little common sense.
Anyhow, that's the plan. I will try to post some more pics of the set up when it's all ready to go.

I work in Dearborn at the Ford Engine Dynamometer Laboratory.
I am about a mile up Oakwood road from the Pilot plant.
In the Research and Development Center across from the Test Track.
I'm working on the new Coyote engines so the Mustang's future will be as bright as it's past.

Transferred back home in '03 when I got the change. Stamping the parts in Buffalo now! Miss the motherland but not more than my home. Cruising the Capri on Woodward is on my bucket list though. I'll give you a shout when that happens!

Love the blue you have picked out. Still considering a blue of some sort for my GT one of these days.

The Woodward Dream Cruise is on August 15.
I was thinking about volunteering to help in Mustang Ally.
It would be great to see you there.

The color is 2007 Shelby Vista Blue Pearl Metallic.
I used SEM tintable Rocket Liner catalyzed pick-up bed liner on the bottom.
    Great stuff.
When I added the Vista Blue paint to the bed liner it turned out that lighter blue color.
I like the bed liner color well enough, but no one but me will ever see it anyway so the non tintable black would have been just as good.

    Default Almost done

6 Year restoration. Just bolted on the fenders and hood.
The front bumper cover is on, but still need to adjust gaps and bolt down.
The whole car is dirty and the front clip is all smudged up from rust fighter.
    Plenty left to do.
Still have to install front air dam as well.
    Here it is so far.
    Getting closer to completion.Name: 20180421_174636.jpg

For that finished project, to wait six years must have been worth it!

Looking fantastic. Are you "done" or still picking?
