    Default 3D Printer Car Parts

I just got our 2nd 3D Printer CUBE PRO. You can make just about any thing with it . We just finished up making a prototype of a hip bone replacement for a friend . I notice a message here on making the side extenders for the Air Dam on the 79 Pace Car or the 84-86 Capris. I have (4) brand new extenders to copy from. The designs can be made on STL files and made on a CAD design.

Wow! I read that post too, would be sweet. I just spent close to $200 for a repro set from John's Classic Cougars.

These printers are amazing. There is a company now printing a whole car. The printers are not cheap but I imaging the price comes down everyday. At some point the suppliers who have been holding out on making parts will be screwed by these things. Plastics are the easiest to do right now and they seem to be the hardest to find parts for the Fox Bodies. The trick is to have the CAD drawing.

can you print clear or nearly clear parts? like say clear side markers or maybe a clear version of the 82 tail light covers would be cool.

3d scanners can scan the part for 3d printers.
Has been used in industry for years.

I need a new plastic gear for my paper shredder.
How about a store similar to one for a copy of a photo or paper?

If you have a clear ABS Plastic It can be done with the correct STL file made from a CAD

We just finished making a Hip ball and joint insert for hip replacement . My son has a friend who wants to be a doctor. who would like to have it patented

YOU CAN MAKE ANY PART FOR A FOX BODY CAR!

I've thrown several perfect sets away because no one wanted to buy them.

I have an 1986 Mercury Capri and ASC McLaren, So I know which parts you need. If you can get a CAD design file also know as .STL I can make it here at my home. Cost? Would not be much

I do have a lens (extra) to copy. But I do not have any plans on selling it

I've been designing and printing RC car parts for a year now using shapeways! It's awesome. Working on some custom cars stuff at the moment too. Would love to start making replacement parts though for sure.

lol the battery is certainly possible but most likely expensive. I'm certainly open to working on it though...

I'll admit my knowledge on these is only slightly above ZERO.
Print it as 5 pieces - 4 side panels + a top, then glue together?

Compared to $500 for used battery?

Have the source materials advanced enough that you aren't worried about UV impact? A few years ago I spoke with an engineer about reproducing the Capri side markers and he said it was possible, but a few months in the sun they would dry and crack. (This was for consumer-grade printers and source materials)
