Default ...and I thought SVO parts were pricey?

I guess it's rare but wow I wish I had bought some of these tires back in the old days.

I rocked an Apple Crate in the early 70s.

Man what a blast from past!

Yes I remember the Crate series. That was what I was looking for on Ebay when I saw this tire. I don't remember now what brand my stingray bike was way back then but it was a ten speed which was very rare ( go figure, right? ).

A friend of mine made me some front forks like a chopper. Took one set of forks and cut them off. Then welded them onto another set of forks making them twice as long. Welded a small plate between the two at the joint and drilled a hole to mount the small chrome fender. Also a tall sissy bar on the back and chopper style handle bars. Had a generator light on the front and a little red tail light on the top of the sissy bar and I was the coolest kid on the block. It had a wide slick tire on the back of course with a flaired chrome fender.

It was a lime green metallic like what was on the gassers since it was 1968. The banana seat was also lime green metallic vinyl.

I just flashed back about 47 years... wow, am I really that old? HAHA

This was when Easy Rider had just been released. I lived at 51 Peterborough Drive. Our "Gang" were the Peterborough Pedal Pushers. I painted a small PPP on the frame just back from the shifters with my Testors model paint. The letters were white with black shadowing. I had just learned how to do that.

No front brake either. I was a daredevil. We lived right near the beach. Made friends with a guy who had a 20' Rayson Craft flat bottom lake boat. It had a Mahogany deck with red & white sides.

Also a 470 ( bored & stroked 454 ) with ZL-1 heads and mechanical Weber / Moon fuel injection. Just your basic 900HP Can Am engine. It had a Casale V drive and cavitation plates. Dry headers and it actually broke windows in the houses along the beach the first time he took it out. Had to run resonators after that. Me and my best friend begged our way into him giving us rides. When ever they came to the beach we would go out with them. We learned how to drink beer ( 13 years old ) oogle the women on the beach, and learned about engines. If anybody knows about the Long Island sound he crossed it in 6 minutes going from Eaton's Neck to Norwalk Connecticut

Funny how I remember all that stuff. Those were the days my friend...

EDIT: Very similar to this except red and white scallops down the sides. Similar to a late 50s Corvette.
