Default Lost my riding buddy today

Our 9 yr old Maltepoo "Duke" has been in a great deal of pain & hasn't eaten for over a week. He's been at the vets on IV fluids & pain meds since last Wednesday. Today they did an ultrasound and found two large tumors in his lymph nodes as well as liver & pancreas damage. Nothing could be done without putting him through a lot more pain so we decided to put him to sleep. He will be missed...

As a dog lover with 3 little ones of my own, I feel your pain. May Duke run free forever in the green field in the sky. (corny I know, but thats how I imagine animals I've lost and it makes me feel better)

Oh man that stinks. My condolences. I had to put down my first dog a few years back and it was very tough on me and my daughter. And he was 14 and had been in tough shape for a while so we knew it was coming. We got another puppy about 2 months later and it helped a lot. Still not the same dog though...

I feel your pain..... we adopted a our Maltipoo puppy 'Scout" last year. He invaded our house and our hearts. They are a great and feisty breed. My guy thinks he is a Golden retriever or a German Shephard, quite the character. As soon as the pain eases, go out and find a new pal. It won't erase the pain, but it allows you to move into a good zone in your heart and mind. Sorry for your loss.

Doug, Sorry to hear about Duke. I enjoyed seeing him enjoy your four eye in the game photos. I know how you feel as I have had to put down a few animals that were more a part of me than some of my own family. R.I.P Duke.

It's hard when you lose a good pet. My sister had a dog she got as a puppy as a graduation present in 1995. She went off to college and he buddied up to me. He had to be put down in 2012, that was hard to take. I feel for your loss.

Sorry to hear that. It can be hard to loose a dog. We lost our pom this summer. Kids took it kinda hard for a little while. But it's part of owning pet though, they don't last forever, unless maybe you have a pet tortoise that will live longer than most humans will.

Sorry for your loss. I think that the loss felt in loosing them is the highest price to pay for having a pet, but in the end the joy they bring more then justifies it.

When the pain fades you'll still have all those great memories.
