Default Boss 429 scoop on a fox?

Anyone tried it? Got some pictures? I tried to find something online but came up with nothing. Maybe my Goggle-fu is lacking.

Found some. I still would like more angles. Or maybe personal experience with one.

Too much. Not in proportion to the car.

The only car it's ever really, really worked for me on:

That car is just so properly nasty in all the right ways.

It runs on 93 pump gas.

I think that the bubble back on the Capri helps balance things out a bit. I might have to keep looking. I might make a cardboard model of one and set it on there to get a rough idea.

I don't think that's a real Boss 429 scoop on the Capri, it's too tall. The one on the Mustang looks more like it.

I think the '82 GT style integrates to a Fox better, while still looking a little bit like the Boss piece.

Maybe if you start with the Boss 9 scoop and then scale it down to fox proportions it would look ok, but from looking at the above pics it just doesn't work. That black Capri would be a great looking car if it ditched the scoop. Its just so large it looks like it was added to be funny, rather than for actual style.
    Cheers!

I also think the same about that bubble back

I think about the height , reduce half of the height down , to make it look right on a fox.

Not as big, but my car had a Mach 1 scoop when I bought it. I didn't think it looked too bad but I had to get the car back to the original appearance in order to get classic tags, so the scoop had to go. I was able to sell the scoop on ebay for $167 as it was a real one.

Have you thought of trying this scoops? Mercury used them on the Cyclone CJ's , Comet GT's and the Cougar Elimnators. This is not as aggressive as the Boss scoope. But maybe a better fit on a at least a 83 and up fox Mustang if that's what you are thinking of putting it on. It's wide in the rear and think it will fallow the hood lines very well. I have used this on our 78 Ranchero that we did a while back and planning on running one on our 81 T-bird.Attachment 79884

That scoop above fits Mark VIIs very well.

As I first read this I was thinking of the black bubble hatch capri. I think it works on that car. I had it as my desktop background for a while. And as for the hatch, um yeah that just works on those cars.

I do need something on the larger size, but many of the Boss 429 style scoops are huge, like the one on the black capri.

Someone mentioned the Boss 9 scoop. That one(made by Classic Design, Summit sells them) is smaller that the one on the capri. 27" long verses 32", 21.5" wide verses 24", and 3.25" inches high instead of 5". I found a picture of one on a cowl hood just like I would be mounting it if I went this route.

It does not look to bad. Better than a Pro-stock style scoop.
