Default 85 Carbed GT Fan Shroud/Catch can question.

Got my 85 after it had been in a accident. Needless to say the Coolant/Washer reservoir had to be removed and the fan shroud was destroyed. Will a kit like this work? http://www.latemodelrestoration.com/...Coolant-Sensor

I'm not looking for exact factory matching. Just wondering if this kit will work in a 85. After market radiator is in it right now as well.

I can tell you the shroud works just fine..I have one in my 85, but I don't know about the overflow? I assume something like that can be made to work though.
    Cheers!

Well I guess that was kinda part of my question. I can get a shroud for an 85 but then getting the reservoir (factory one anyhow) is a pain. That kit I know the coolant tank attaches to the side of the shroud I think. So I guess more of a question will that 86 and higher shroud work.

It should. The radiators are the same for the vehicles and the water pump is in the same place.

No Jy's near you? Have you checked craigslist in your area. That's a lot of money in my opinion for a shroud and overflow.
An electric fan conversion would probably cost less.

Works like a charm. I'm running the later setup like that on my '84. Does not make any difference. I use a flex fan instead of the clutch fan because the clutch went out.
