Default Black ten hole ssp wheels

Anybody know how to tell if a set of black ten holes are from an ssp or just been painted? I've got the casting #'s if that helps.

not sure but they were either painted or not depending on the state, they are the same wheels as regular ten holes, there are different part numbers with minor variations depending on the year.

somebody can probably tell from the casting numbers what they came off of

Thanks FM2NOTCH. I've got two sets. One set of casting #'s is E7SC-1007-CA. And the other set is E5SC-1007-88 or could be BB, it's hard to tell.

Yeah, I figured the e5's were probably painted, the e7's could be ssp wheels because that's the first year they used em on ssp's. I don't even know if the ssp wheels had a different casting # or not.

Casting number should be the same, but the part number may be different due to the different finish.

I'm not sure either, I thought all the 85-86 ssp's used the same steel wheels and center caps that I have on my 86, but again I'm not sure of that.

might be true, but you can believe some of the unmarked cars had ten holes put on them so they wouldn't look suspect. NC troopers are a sneaky group, heard it from the horses mouth.

I been looking for correct casting # for my 85 gt 10 holes wheel for 2 years, I seen 50-60 10 holes casting # that peopels send to me, thru craiglist,

and I can tell you I never seen this casting # before E5SC-1007-88 I seen plenty of these E7SC-1007-CA

for 85 model, begining of casting # is E5 and ending ether BA or CA , BA is for GT and CA is some lx model I think.

The 88 is actually BB. 84specialed, those are the casting numbers. Casting numbers do not correspond to LX or GT.

Thanks Travis. And sinister, if you're looking for E5 casting 10 holes I'm ate up with them. If you need a set let me know. I also understand the ford casting number correlating to the year. I figured I'd post these up to try and see if they're off an ssp or not, I guess it doesn't really matter, just didn't know if they had a different # or not. Like I said, I figured the E5's I have were painted, just wasn't sure about the E7 castings.

I have many peoples on craiglist send me text say their wheel is SSP, so they want 400 dollar a set, but when I ask for the casting # , most of them gave me the E7 casting , that same casting from 87+ 10 holes. 85-86 is 2 year that have same casting number.

I figured the E7's could be ssp wheels, the first year they were used on ssp's was 87.

I remember back in the day seeing black 10 holes on state troopers. With a stock silver ford center. I worked at a sheriffs dep for a few years then.
