Default Need to sell my cars

    Hi,
I am being forced to sell my cars. The SVO I have a buyer for but I need to price out my 86 GT convertible. Here is the scoop:
I am the 2nd owner. 124xxx miles. 10 holes and ponies. Top is trashed. Needs a new one. Dash pad is cracked. Car has a bad repaint (at least it is the same as the original color). Driver's seat torn at the bolster. Pass seat and back seats okay. The door panels are warped from the leaky top, but I have a great set to go with it. The hood has surface rust, but I have 2 other hoods (one is factory black) to go with it. The deck lid has some light rust, but I have another decklid and a second decklid with a Saleen style big wing on it to go with it. Car runs and drives, grinds 1-2 shift if you are really on it. I have another WCT-5 that would go with it. Traction Lok works.
I paid 1700 for it about 5 years ago. Taking into account the top issue, I am thinking maybe 1200?

That doesn't sound unreasonable at all. I think that's a very fair price for what looks to be a great project. Good luck with the sale! And sorry about having to sell them off, I don't know the circumstances but if I was forced to sell mine I'd be very upset.

Cripes I wish I had the space for it. I'm maxed out to say the least. I have cars stored at work, friends houses and at my wife's grandparents. (No I don't like letting cars sit out)

I would say you can get more than 1200 for that car. I would at least try. Put $2500 OBO on it and take the first $1800-2000 that offers.
    Cheers!

I agree with TopGear85, it is worth way more than $1200. Wish I had the room for it.

Yep, ask for 2500 and you should have no problems selling it for 2000-2200.

Thanks for the help. I had to hide the ownership of the SVO, but it looks like I get to keep the 86 for now.

Damn, a running driving car in decent condition for $1,200? Unheard of in my area! Up here I regularly see people asking $2,500 for parts cars and rollers. I'd definitely put the $2,500 price tag on it and see where it goes.
