Well I said the other side would be done today, and I'm a man of my word (this time). Here's the pics:

That's all she wrote as far as exterior trim. Now I just have to paint over the bodywork I've done, install the air dam and rear spats, and finish it off with all the graphics (which I have).

I'm hoping to have her on the road in a week or two (max). I'm super excited for the first time since I paid for the car!
    Cheers!

Trim looks great, but it looks a little odd with the sail panels red.

In regards to the sail panels....that's how Saleen did the red and white cars. All other color cars got the standard charcoal sail panels. I think the drip rail mouldings is what makes it look odd...you have this charcoal stripe running over the red sail panels and it looks like a mistake, but that's how Saleen did it.

Here's a pic of 86-0145...it's a totally stock 40K mile car, and what I've used for inspiration and a reference. It's an amazing Saleen:

You can see in the pics that the red is correct...but a little strange because of that charcoal drip rail moulding.

Big Thanks to 86-0145 for having an incredible, all original red Saleen. What a car!
    Cheers!

For now it's just gonna get the big stuff looking presentable and that's it. I don't have the cash for a full respray right now, so I'm doing the best I can with what I've got. Plus I'm doing everything on my own (with a lot of advice from knowledgable friends..Zac, Trey, etc) and a lot of this stuff (like body repair) I've never done before. It's been an eye opening learning experience and it has given me a greater appreciation for the work that other members (like Mike1157 and WraithRacing) have done and are capable of doing. Me and this car have been through hell but we can almost see the light.

My future plans for the car include a full restoration, but I'm years away from that. I just want it to look cool and run well (I'm happy with a 20 footer right now).
    Cheers!

Mike, your car is looking great and glad to hear you finally have some nice things to say about her! Congrats!

One day my car will get there too hopefully even though all I have done his week is look at her due to my youngest boy and I going to the gym. Trying to get him to lose a few pounds and get him ready for football season this year. Tonight I plan to do a little bit to her.

I'm close on the stripes, but I don't know about taking her all the way to Cali just yet. I'm thinking around my block a few dozen times to make sure she's running right. I am hella excited to put the rest of the ground effects and decals on though. That will make her look like a real Saleen. Plus I have a GT hood decal that's going on as well...which will probably make people think she isn't a real Saleen, but with the circumstances surrounding her conversion I'm 99.9% sure she left Saleen with that hood decal still on. So that's what I'm going with.
    Cheers!

Haven't done squat to my 'Mont since fall except for accumulating more parts. Biggest score so far this winter was a mint T5 from an '89 Mustang GT complete with bell housing, clutch fork, and pedal assembly for $240.00.

As far as what I did to my four eye today...Not much. I put the side mirrors back on and sanded some of the bodywork. Hopefully tomorrow is more productive.

It's funny, I bought that headliner a year ago and today is the first day I took it out of the box (good thing there was no damage). It's a nice part...TMI uses flexible abs plastic as opposed to the cardboard like material the factory used. It (the abs plastic) make getting it in the car easier because it can bend, but it did droop until I got the dome light bezel installed. You do have to cut out the spots for the map light and visors (you only have to cut through the headliner material, not the plastic board), and some trimming around the edges is needed as well, but otherwise it's straight forward.

If you're in the market for a headliner (and you don't want to make your own) I think this one is pretty nice, and worth the $200.
    Cheers!

    Nice engine Ruffi!

Is the plan to have her ready for the spring or do you have a lot more work ahead?

I see you have a HF/Pittsburgh picker, I bought one last year myself and so far it seems like a great hoist for the money. Have you been happy with yours?

    very clean and beautiful

is that oil drain plug on the side ?

the wire could use some hose sleeve make it look cleaner and protect it from heat and other stuff fall into it.

if I ever rebuild my engine, that ford blue would be the same color too.

Bought some stuff for new school car washing. I was very pleased to find a "foam gun" for $10, as opposed to the $100 Autogeek wants for them. I also got some $3 5-gallon buckets instead of Autogeek's $13 buckets.
