I just cleaned mine real well and used the paint/dye I got from Late Model Restoration. I had all the interior pieces out of the car to paint them.

Make sure you get some adhesion promotor or the paint won't bond very well to the plastics. I've had good results with Bull Dog Adhesion Promotor, and anything made by SEM. They (SEM) actually sell everything you need to do a good job dying interior parts. They make a wash, prep spray, adhesion promotor, and top coat that all work well together. Having a really clean surface and using adhesion promotor are huge.

X 2 TopGear85's advise. I clean off any dirt & grunge first with a good cleaner like simple green, but then follow up with a clean rag just dampened with a little brake parts cleaner. Let the parts dry good, (I like to sit them out in the sunlight) then use the adhesion promotor as directions call out. Get all the parts ready as most promotor's require color top coat be applied within around 10 min of the promotor.

Clean it, Clean it, and cleanit! Try to use the hottest water possible while cleaning the plastic, than do what was mentioned above.

I'm trying to cleanup the white plastic shell that is the rear section of the instrument panel. Anybody know if someone sells a color match for this or was it originally just white. This is from a 1979 Pace Car!

    Thanks

Just joined today, so apologies if this is common knowledge. Here is a good restorer/protectant, much better than anything else I've ever used. It actually dries and doesn't turn oily or gummy.

I found it at Cabela's, but google is showing it available at Walmart and Home Depot.

I cleaned mine with Dawn dish soap and a BRAND NEW grey scuff pad. 3 times. No fish eyes at all and sticking 3 years later just as good. Bulldog adhesion promoter or SEM like everybody else gas stated.

I've done many interior parts and they look like new with no chipping

A guy on the FB page did some old dried out plastics with bedliner paint. He had his painter shoot them through a regular HVLP gun. They looked pretty good. The texture was knocked down so it didn't look like a bedliner.

I have had good luck with the SEM stuff as well. 2 years later still looks great, good prep is a must as others have mentioned.
