Why oh why would you put that beauty on a 4x4 chassis? jk... I'm just jealous. I still have a roof skin to replace on mine.

Size: 116.8 KBHello everyone, its been a few months since my last update. Things have been going very slow. I rebuilt the engine, it is a 95 5.0 with a E303 cam, GT40p heads , and a performer rpm intake. The valve covers are only temporary until I find a good set of originals. I have upgraded to a 10.5 inch clutch, but I am still running the SROD trans until I get some money saved up for a T5.

Glad to see this car did not go to the land of the lost. Progress is good, slow or not!

Wow, it's actually pretty nice to see this car. I haven't been on the site in a long time. But I remember this car, and if ARJ can verify, I think he got it from me, I remember the rusted rear floor and the spot on the C pillar on the driver side. I too had to give it up after saving it from a known Mustang/foxbody butcher. Great progress, keep it up.

Any updates on progress? Would kill to see another BM on the road... Last time I actually saw a BM being driven (other than mine) was more than 20 years ago.

Sorry its been so long since I have given any updates. Progress has been slow because of limited funds. I am not sure when I will be able to paint the car because I need to start driving it asap. My daily driver is on its last leg and I don't have the money to by another vehicle. Name: 20180128_163355.jpg

Protect all of your hard work on the body by putting a coat of something on it. I'm not suggesting rattle cans, but something. Primer IS NOT water proof.

Back when money was tight and I had a lot of rust repair to do on my 1986 I went with to Ace Hardware and picked up a gallon of their Gloss Black metal paint and some rattle cans of primer and sealer.

I primed it, blocked, it, sealed it, and painted the areas that needed it all in my dad's garage in Wichita on weekend in 96. Cost me $75 all in for materials. I thinned it just enough that I could get it to spray and no more.

The car held up and looked nice all the way until around 2007 before visible rust started showing up in problem areas again and that time I didn't get back at it in time. Now I have a real mess, but that's another story.

When you get around to redoing it, your black paint will make a good guide coat as your blocking out.

Good luck with your car! I really like it.

    The Capri looks good!

I agree that if you have to drive the car then you either want to spray it in a catalyzed epoxy primer, a catalyzed sealer, or some type of catalyzed paint.

You don't need a lot of paint/material. If you are careful you can spray the entire car with 2 quarts. You might be able to do it with one quart, but I would recommend two coats for better sealing. Good Luck!

Hello everyone, I have made a little progress on the Capri. I got the running a couple of weeks ago and the engine sounds good, but the transmission is leaking badly. I tore down the trans and found the countershaft had gouges in it causing it to leak out of the front of the case. So right now I have to decide what to do for a trans. I can rebuild the srod or try to find a reasonably priced T5. I am also waiting on my MAC LT headers that are on back order. There is still a lot to do, but its slowly getting there.
